Dunno - pretty impressive in No. Plfd so far. Conditions really deteriorated over the past hour. Everything covered and accumulating aggressively.
yeah I just think things east of me are going to do better...im thinking boxing day where it was like 7-8 in western Hillsborough and a foot in manville and 15 plus in new brunswick

gradient wont be as tight and I still think we get at least 10 here up to 15 or 16

This was at 5:30, it had already started sticking to paved areas.

Temperature has dropped down to 31°.

He @DJ Spanky - is it possible to have a location that appears in one's avatar or at least on the profile? TIA.

Unfortunately not. The Rivals message board software had a lot more functionality than this from On3. One of the pieces was the ability to put your location. And they apparently have no desire to make the On3 software more functional and user friendly.

As of 5 pm, we have 1.5" of new snow, so 1" the last hour and we're still at 31F. All roads now covered, as expected.
As of 6 pm, we have 2.5" of snow, so another 1" last hour it's snowing at moderate+ whatever that is. Temp still 31F. Very pretty snow coating everything including the trees since the first inch or so was pretty wet and it stuck, despite ~15 mph winds with gusts to 20-25 mph now.

not impressed with whats out there now...been sticking for 2 hours but barely getting near an inch on grass and maybe half inch on paved

its very wet
Same, I got about 1/4" on paved surfaces. Been sticking for a while now just not really accumulating. Unless something changes quickly I'd be shocked if them higher amounts verify around me

+1
Barely anything on paved surfaces as of now. But my daughter's school was called off for tomorrow, so she's happy.

We'll be back in LA/Anaheim in June and Oahu next month for spring break again. The little one is signed up for her first surf lesson. North Shore! At the Turtle Bay Ritz.
Good time for a bigger. Surf is small on the Northshore in summer. Winter s completely different story.

Just got back from 5 fire calls. Power out in Sea Girt Estates area of Wall. Comical people still driving around. A Porsche 911 trying to barrel up 35 from the Manasquan Circle, could not make it up the bridge. Ride back home was treacherous.

Road are already pretty nasty in Bridgewater. The snow isn’t thick but it is sticky and slippier

I grew up in SNJ in Washington Twp and friends from HS all over Camden/Gloucester Counties getting hammered with 1-2" of snow per hour.

Folks need to remember that this storm is just ramping up and the worst is supposed to be from about 9 pm to 8 am tomorrow, where 1-2" per hour rates are expected at least for a bit NW of 95 through the coast. So 12-18" seems like a minimum for almost everyone, with 18-24" looking very doable from the Turnpike to the coast (and 24"+ at the coast is still in play).

I was just watching ABC NY news and the guy gave Metuchen snow total of 2.2 inches first and then only one other one.

Share recipe? Big fan of chix tortilla soup

4 cups chicken broth
4 cups water...i know some do way less and to be honest my crockput was just filled all the way to the top
tons of seasonings..dont measure...pepper, onion powder, chili powder, garlic powder
one medium onion cut up
4 or 5 celery sticks
1 can Rotel diced tomatoes /green chiles
2.5-3 lbs of boneless chicken cut in pieces

I cook 4 hours on low..the last hour I add in 1 can drained black beans and half bag frozen corn

at end I throw in fresh jalapeno slices

then in my bowl and throw in tortilla chips and mexican cheese

sometimes I like to put jasmine rice inside my bowl and eat like that but its great without too

like it hot, there is never enough heat to put into it.

I use boneless chicken breast but its also awesome with boneless thighs because that meat is so tasty and tender but it does create more grease i the soup from the fat

all in all very easy to make and mine is basic recipe

The mountain is fully opened. Great coverage on and off piste. Snow was perfect today since it was totally groomed but still a little soft. This storm is only going to make conditions better. I would even think Mountain Creek and Poconos will benefit. Funny thing on the maps Numbers and Bac posted is that Hunter is in the dark spot to get another 16+. But the rest of the Catskill area not as much.
I got 4 days in and after the last big storm, but then took a puck to the knee playing pond hockey so I've been hobbled since.

Looking fwd to Wednesday. I really should look to spend the night and do a double.

She's doing the Jamie O'Brien school. It sounds like the cove/bay they use is chill and good for beginners. We shall see! We are doing it early in the trip, so if she loved it, we can did it again.

Regardless, we will spend 2 days on the North Shore, so plenty of time to watch the pros if pipeline and the other spots are firing.

Starting to accumulate now in Hamilton. I see a nice band on the radar is coming through now.

Looks like Union County is in the straight up jackpot zone. Yikes.

Mike Masco : 3-5 inches for areas S and E of NYC. 1-3 inches in NNJ. Masco emphasized amounts are preliminary and I took that as amounts will increase.

John Marshall : 2-5 inches for NJ with higher amounts by coast. He also said amounts will change which I took as will increase.

There’ll be windy gusty conditions during storm..
2" so far on my little part of the coast sounds about right. Early snow melted but has been sticking so #s will likely increase rapidly.

I'm kicking myself for not waiting a bit to move the car into town. Stevens Flood Advisory changed flooding projection from Major to Moderate. Moderate doesn't normally cause me any issue at all.

Went for a an approx 1.5 mile walk.

We have about 3-4 inches 🤷‍♂️

Views are picturesque as snow sticking on trees etc.

It’s slick.

2 people were already shoveling.

Saw approx half dozen cars driving.

Snow was coming into my face when walking east.

Transformer blowing all over southern Monmouth county. One in front of my house blew. JCPL was on site quickly and repaired. Had power for 15 minutes and blew again.
Many without power in Brielle/Wall/Manasquan.

In Center City Philadelphia the temperature is still 33. In Belmont Hills it's 31 and everything here is sticking. Snow is light so far.
