UAB up on Memphis 68-61 with 5:30 remaining
Need Memphis to be ready for USF. But it looks like they may tank and not even make the tournament. They may be finally ready to open the exit door for Penny.

Interesting that Ford is only out for this game???????????? Would be really weird to see him back for last few games unless he is fully ready or is a portal risk.
Caught Ford in practice I believe the first time since he got hurt this week. Will say he is as good as advertised maybe our best player if playing

What a situation to be in for next year. Teams will be all over Ford to enter the portal and here we have done everything possible for him.

Memphis had a "stripe out" the crowd for television and there weren't enough fans to make a stripe. The AD was there to evaluate Penny and gather money for the buyout I suspect. The message board is calling their team the Washington Generals. UAB just won another road game.........

If we are going to pay him we had better play him!

Perhaps they think he can get a waiver for an extra year at this point.

Maybe Konkol can repeat and coach Tulsa to an NIT championship again, as he did the last time he coached here as a student assistant. lol

UAB 4th is not bad for us. Keep them on the other side of bracket.

UAB wins 78-67
Yes!

That puts Memphis in a situation where they could end up the 7 seed if they don't totally collapse, which is possible. Winning against E Carolina and Tulane would not be a total collapse and possibly put them in the #6/7 seed. Which might mean we see them as the #3 seed if we cant take the #2 seed. And it puts UAB on target for catching the #4 seed and staying on the opposite side from us. Meaning we play usf/uab winner if we get to the championship as the #2 or #3 seed.

Captain obvious summary!

He will get an extra year without question. It's just a matter of whether other teams get him to enter the portal next year, after everything we have done for him.(As I.I. said.) We set him up to be golden(and blue hopefully) next year, while paying him to heal on our bench. Hopefully he appreciates what we paid him this year, as additional funds to what we pay him next year.

The Tulane?Memphis game could be the determiner for the 6/7 seed. Winner #6, loser #7. Tulane and Memphis have the tougher schedules between the 4 teams who had 6 losses before Memphis lost today. UAB had the easiest schedule.

For them road games are easiest.

Memphis could potentially join UTSA in the “out” crowd.

Looks like Behrend is playing
I hope we are able to play green & behrend sparingly today. If we get through the Tulane game without using them a whole bunch then 8 days of recovery for the 3 players.(Behrend, Green, and Rigsby)

Konkols' halftime talk, we've got a good double-digit lead. I've drawn up some great plays to start the half and extend this lead. The half begins with the worst team in the league going on an 8-0 run. Oh well, same halftime adjustment every game, we will come back, in spite of the talk lol

I think you over estimate Konkol. I'm not sure I've ever seen any Konkol team make any actual adjustments. This is why we struggle in games we're not blowing people out.

A 26 point BLOWOUT of UTSA was expected. We probably could have hung more on this team and beat them by 40 like we did Rice at home. A win is a win and GLOBAL DOMINATION is still in full effect. There are very few games across all of College basketball but none I am "tracking" on here.

Quad one wins and losses mean nothing...... Ohio State is now 0-9 in quad one and gets a bye in bracketology just for losing to good teams. I bet we beat them 1 out of 2 times if we were in the Big 10. I would propose we schedule road games against as many Top 20 teams as we can for next year. Lose them all but one and get a top 30 NET. Win 2 and you are in the bracket. That's the Memphis plan.

They are 7-1 in Quad 2 and 4-0 in Quad 3. I would wager if we had that Quad 2 record we would be getting a lot more bubble consideration. Heck…if we had that Quad 2 record we would likely have one conference loss .
