Okay, my post title was overly dramatic, but the NCAA told the appellate court it could vacate all of Indiana's wins this past season unless it gets its day in court.

At issue is the preliminary injunction that allowed Louis Moore to play in the 2025 season. Now that the season is over and Moore is preparing for the NFL, he wants to dismiss his lawsuit.

"Not so fast" says the NCAA, which apparently wants to litigate some of these eligibility cases to try to regain some control.

The NCAA has an old "Rule of Restitution" that says if an ineligible player is allowed to play by a court order that is later stayed, vacated, or dismissed, the NCAA can seek restitution, including striking records and vacating wins

By dismissing his case, Moore is basically dismissing the injunction that allowed him to play.

But, before anyone brings it up, this rule probably would not affect Bediako and Alabama. Bediako's temporary restraining order was not reversed or dismissed; it simply expired, and the court declined to enter a preliminary injunction.

That’s an even bigger joke than players getting these injunctions in friendly courts in the first place. If they want to do something about it they’ve got to fine the school every dollar of revenue they earned that season, including Big 10 regular season tv revenue. That would put a stop to these bullsh*t injunctions real quick.

Severe financial penalties are included in the possible restitution.

If the big ten had to refund its playoff money from Indiana participating that would probably cause them to hammer Indiana enough that schools don’t risk it in the future. Can’t imagine the ncaa has the balls to do that to the big 10 or SEC.
