Something needs to change, coaching, recruiting or whatever, somethings gotta change
but pope beat scheyer so pope is better....LOL
That's a sobering stat, but not surprising. Duke has been killing it on the recruiting trail and running on 8 cylinders, while the Cats have not performed at an elite level for several years. I hate to say it, but Kentucky has become increasingly irrelevant on the national stage.Something needs to change, coaching, recruiting or whatever, somethings gotta change
I am UK graduate, Fellow and life-long fan with no love for Duke, but must admit that I'd much rather play in Cameron than Rupp. More FUN ...That's a sobering stat, but not surprising. LMAO. Nothing to do with the school, the toxic fans, the JMI restrictions...just PopeScheyer is a much better recruiter and has a better staff. Has nothing to do with Cameron or the school.
fans were toxic when cal got all these good recruits, jmi has here was well, and the school is the same as wellLMAO. Nothing to do with the school, the toxic fans, the JMI restrictions...just Pope

Couldn't beat Duke in recruiting WITH Cal... Certainly ain't going to beat them in recruiting without. The Duke machine is too big to stop at this point.Something needs to change, coaching, recruiting or whatever, somethings gotta change
the recruiting with cal was close, we ended up with the better class 6 of the last 10 yearsCouldn't beat Duke in recruiting WITH Cal... Certainly ain't going to beat them in recruiting without. The Duke machine is too big to stop at this point.
That’s pretty much it. Pope’s problems have nothing to do JMI or Rupp. Someone mentioned being better to play in Memorial. The winning percentage for UK at Memorial and Rupp is identical.Anybody that thinks Pope is a good recruiter is very delusional. Pope is arguably one of the worst recruiters I have ever seen. He’s awkward and goofy. Hes borderline a dweeb and he doesn’t have people skills.
Please tell me you’re not serious? So are you blaming the fans for Pope’s poor coaching?LMAO. Nothing to do with the school, the toxic fans, the JMI restrictions...just Pope
If that's true, Cal failed even more than I thought.the recruiting with cal was close, we ended up with the better class 6 of the last 10 years
After the fox monk years it wasn't ever close againthe recruiting with cal was close, we ended up with the better class 6 of the last 10 years
rob reed and dj class was number one i believe, the clarke and bj team was up thereAfter the fox monk years it wasn't ever close again
Apparent that is more correct than weknowAnybody that thinks Pope is a good recruiter is very delusional. Pope is arguably one of the worst recruiters I have ever seen. He’s awkward and goofy. Hes borderline a dweeb and he doesn’t have people skills.
It’s crazy that you’ll blame fans for the poor product before you’ll blame the coach, why do you think it’s so necessary to have undying loyalty for the head coach? Makes no senseLMAO. Nothing to do with the school, the toxic fans, the JMI restrictions...just Pope
I do blame the coach. Completely. Its his responsibility. I also believe its not right to fire a man for one bad season when he had 3 injuries. The one bad season will still be the one bad season when we play our last game this yearIt’s crazy that you’ll blame fans for the poor product before you’ll blame the coach, why do you think it’s so necessary to have undying loyalty for the head coach? Makes no sense
And if next year is more of the same? What exactly will it take for you to see that he’s not the right coach for KentuckyI do blame the coach. Completely. Its his responsibility. Ill be the first one to say fire his ***. I kinda think he just might turn things around with a little luck next year. Wouldn't that suck for the chicken little crowd? And if next year is more of the same? What exactly will it take for you to see that he’s not the right coach for Kentucky
How is this not Mitch deliberately incompetent at his job ?!?!?!?!Duke has taken the NIL game seriously, they're not being held back by the AD or school in any way, the ACC has been trash lately, and it's very hard to win at Cameron.
Meanwhile, coaches across the country declined to coach here, our AD has us in bed with JMI for the foreseeable future, our AD has a 'no list' which includes coaches fans wanted and could have succeeded here, Pope's credentials didn't scream 'head coach at Kentucky', UK has failed in recent years to get better while the SEC has done just that, and Rupp isn't extremely hard to win in because our fans are older and sit on their hands and the rich class gets the best seats on the court.
Duke continues to take basketball seriously. UK continues to have a "meh" type attitude.
