We still do not know how to play DEFENSE!

Who cares about the other crap, we simply play terrible defense.
Ya we can go on scoring draughts and times look lost there, but we are in so bad of position on D, WHILE RARELY TURNING ANYONE over.

I can give Pope a pass on everything else, unlucky calls/injuries or whatever. But even walk ons can be taught to fundamentally play defense.

For basically 2 years, this has not been fixed. I don't think it gets fixed in year 3.

When they do play zone they play as small as they possibly can. There are several players on this team that are lazy on defense. I can understand getting beat by better athletes 1 on 1 but the lack of effort and technique demonstrated is just almost unbelievable.

They shot 40%....26% from 3. Our advanced stat ranking is 33rd in the country. We got jobbed, and Chandler has to be effective from 3pt range for us to be successful.

I've seen them play decent defense for brief periods here and there, so I know they can. That's infuriating to me, because it shows lack of consistent effort. They think defense is a just a suggestion, and once again that's on Pope.

When we play zone it’s like a lay up line to the other team.

Our defense is very simple. It’s hope they miss.

is it just me, or does it seem like every time we are going to face a poor 3 point shooting team, we leave them more open and sag off them ... and I'll be dammmned they make their open 3s ? lol like Georgia home this year and Arkansas at home last year

Pope doesn’t teach or expect defense, the players might work too hard and sweat and stuff, and he’s needs 15 healthy players to keep that from happening.

Watch Houston play defense when they really need a stop in a close game and you will witness defensive intensity that our players need to strive for.
