We’ve blown a 21 point lead and we’re up by 2.
Wow.
Everyone lookng for the 3 75% of the time and ignoring everything inside.
We allow the other team to dictate the game most of the time.
We need to toughen up.

pulled it out after almost blowing it. Maybe just getting the win will be enough to start another streak.

It should be, we don't play anything but bottom feeders till Temple. We 'SHOULD" have a 4 game winning streak when we go visit Temple.

Can you imagine what a good Xs and Os coach could do with this roster ? Time for Konkol to go , we obviously have the money to put together a good roster , time to get a good coach that can put together a well coached and talented team

Temple game is at home and any bashing of Konkol just makes a person sound basketball illiterate. Is Konkol perfect? Of course not, but he clearly understands talent and is showing signs that he can navigate the portal and this NIL era. This is not an easy time to be a college coach in any sport and very few have found consistency in this era. Konkol is 21-6 and likely to finish the regular season at 25-6 and COY. Calling for his head sounds foolhardy.

Has he made the NCAA tournament or even NIT the four years he has been here ? That’s what he should be graded off of , not wins and losses , especially since he had a kindergarten Schedual for non conference

Well , he will need to get a zone offense quickly for the remaining games. Not just a high pick on the zone or lobs attempts. Need to have a lot of movement and attempt some overload.

I agree with some of what you said, not all. He identifies talent really well. He could not get a 5, and gambled on Onwuchekwa. Hodgson brought one with him. We could have used a Berg or Bonge this year and been golden. Other conference teams got those players and spent as much or less than we did. If we put our money for Onwuchekwa and Dean or Rigsby into picking up a Berg/Bonge type we might have had a team that was better than USF. That's the talent level.

The coaching isn't up to par, on defense, rotations, out of bounds plays, different offenses as utility,(like the zone), etc As far as identifying talent, if we give him the money(which we were finally able to do this year) he is pretty damn good minus not getting us a 5 spot. Coaching is not at the level of his identifying talent. That's why I sort of wish we move to another coach now that we have shown the candidates what we can do with our nil money.

In all likelyhood we will stay with him because it will make the program look bad that we move on to another coach with as good of a record as we were able to pull off because of the talent we picked up. Hopefully he can pick up a decent 5 this year, with how well he did with this roster as an advantage in recruiting one for next year.

Moore reportedly had him on his list for TU last March. But went with Konkol another year. Konkol has recruited well but Hodgson has our outside game and American Conference player of the year inside he brought from Arkansas State to USF.
Why didn't he do more at Arky State last season?
