Having been at the uCLA game and watch Powers heater in the first half go wasted because we didn’t guard anyone or get within 2 feet of any offensive player , I was embarrassed for Pike who claims to be a defensive coach.
Damn . He let a team with no low post game kinda like us play against AIR again letting Minnesota hit 15-26 from 3. They shot against no one as it was one open 3 after another. Why were we worried about Groves a backup forced to play because of injuries playing one on one. We sagged all day. Could be the worse game plan ever in a game being outscored 45-18 from 3.
I guess that alone was mind boggling but Pike reverting to participation rotations with his lineups have you asking why ? Almost seemed like he deliberately thru the game or had money on the game.
I guess not talking about how to attack a zone should not be discussed either. Not bringing someone to the foul line for almost all game or having the guards set up 5 feet behind the 3 point line instead of closer and then supposedly to penetrate which didn’t happen except for Lino Mark is again mind boggling.
what a step back and what a pike embarrassment saying the defense has been practicing better. Your game plan didn’t give your team a chance today. You can all kill the players but they are given a game plan to follow and it sucked badly and things looked as bad as possible. . Who scouted this team ? A failure destroying any momentum the team had from the 2 game winning streak.
Only bright spot Lino Mark and another reason to prioritize keeping him
