RU "shooting" 33%. Minny at 50%, beating us on the boards and getting all the loose balls. Lucky we're only down 10, we'd be down 25 against an upper-tier team.

Not a single foul by Minny at half!
Why are we not attacking the zone???
Why are we not pressing them the entire time especially with our rotation of players? They have limited guys and we should be trying to g to wear them down

cmon coach!!!

Terrible half, bad coaching. With them undermanned, we should be driving to the hoop all day and drawing fouls to get them in foul trouble, but we're not very aggressive at all today. And somehow MN didn't commit a single foul in the half and there were at least a few including on the last shot by Francis. Ugh. Back to the weather, lol.

Absurd, no foul calls. Francis bumped multiple times if you start calling it then the D opens up.
The lefty has been dragging his pivot foot almost constantly. They call one or two walks. His driving will change.

The momentum shifted when they went to a zone, which was a smart move when powers and Francis went out. Are you had an awful lineup against his own with no three-point shooters that was a smart coaching move and they needed either powers or Francis in there during that time to have some threat from outside MARK and Davis at the same time or an awful lineup against a zone

A middle school team would know this. Pike is terrible. Terrible. Announcers making fun of him.

Beating a zone requires 2 seemingly basic premises:
1. Shooting ability
2. Minimal forethought on the next offensive movement as a team to manipulate the zone.
The defense has a plan - they aren't just following players around and reacting.
The offense in turn needs to operate as a single unit and dictate where they want the defense to go.

Both are seemingly low on the priority list for Pike as a program.

This is the worst effort of the season. Team just doesn’t have any energy and seems happy to get blown out. Can’t remember a game where a team drew zero fouls. Really frustrating as I thought the team was improving.
It is a bad effort, but Indiana was pretty brutal too

Get someone in the high post, post a big, cutter from the wing and put Zrno in the weakside corner. This is basketball 101. You beat the zone moving the ball by passing

Hot take: that last play wasn't a foul on Francis.

I'm fine with Francis and others players not getting calls when they throw themselves into a defender hunting for foul calls.

Every made basket we should press. Rutgers is not going to beat them in a slow paced, walk the ball up the court, half court defensive game. That’s their style, especially with 6 guys. Try and speed it up, we’re going to lose by 15 at least keeping the game at their pace and style.

Thing is Minnesota hardly broke a sweat that half by playing deliberate. Doubt if they are all that tired.

They made tough shots, got lucky bounces, and all the calls. This game is not out of reach.
