Nation's Mom has close UCLA ties. Is in the UCLA women's hall of fame. Was an all-american in basketball and volleyball. Nice that she's visiting but will be a tall task to get a commitment. We've had numerous five stars visit and go somewhere else.

You are right. I never thought we'd get Ava or Addie. Certainly McKenna was swinging for the fences and a homerun. You never know but I'm tempering my enthusiasim.

It would be nice if they were honest so we don't waste time and energy on folks who just want some swag..(to be clear im not disagreeing w you but sheesh sometimes...)
That is probably one of the things any staff has to evaluate carefully, I don’t know about wanting swag so much as you develop relationships and it is hard for a young lady to tell you no. I remember Caitlin talking about how much angst she had when she knew she had to call the Notre Dame coach and tell her that she was going to go to Iowa.
Of course the difference now is the portal. You still want to establish those relationships. You never know a year or two later and a player decides to make a change, and they remember their visit to Iowa. I can guarantee that CCW never thought she'd end up at Iowa when she signed close to home at Georgia Tech...

Was thinking this morning where else in the country would the media discuss a visit from a five star women's basketball recruit? Not in LA for sure.
I read an article from late last year where Nation talked about 3 schools she might visit that were in touch with her as she narrows it down (NC, SC, and UCLA). She basically said her mom wanted her to visit UCLA. Many kids do not go where their parents went as to make their name somewhere else. She has ties to Iowa through her mom as well. Mom is the manager of the Aces. Megan is on that team now and Kate used to be. Jensen just said last year on a Hawk Talk that she knew the Aces manager who said “We will always take someone from Iowa!”
I wouldn’t think it’s out of the picture unless Skim gets any inside info otherwise. I don’t follow Skim anymore.
