Highly contingent on if Keyshawn Hall is available. They're at home playing for NCAA tournament hopes so we'll be behind the 8 ball.
Get down earlier and I don’t think there's a comeback in this one.

Their big guy plays physical and we saw how all our bigs except Mo wilted around somto so I fully expect them to play even more scared on the road. I’m sure pope will be subbing out 2 of our 3 scorers in 3 mins cause he’s not learned a thing in 2 yrs here but unless someone in the paint grows a set then it’s going to be a very tough game to win.

I would like to see Mo in the starting role, he plays with much more energy then the other bigs.

This team seems to have hit a wall. Not sure if they will get past that or not in the next week. Leaning toward no, but we play the games for a reason.

Imagine if we don't win another game this year and Mitch allows him to come back.
That’s exactly what will happen. But this offseason won’t be a fun time for Pope or his family in Lexington, that’s for sure.

If I were Pope, I wouldn’t even show my face around town.

But I’m sure Pope will pull out a game or two, he always does before embarrassing himself again.

Similar to where I am. Georgia game was sheer boredom. I was there and the crowd tried numerous times to lift up the team but they didn't really respond. I have lost a lot of interest in the team this year as everytime I think we've turned the corner and get a little excited they come up with a stinker game and show little effort. It's gotten old.
I voted no but it could go either way. I do know the players seem like they couldn’t care less. Mark Pope is a smart man but coaching basketball doesn’t appear to be his strong suit. It looks like the players don’t respect Pope or any of his assistants, and playing for the name on the front of the jersey is out the window. I just wish this season would end and none of our rivals win the NC. Sad, sad time to be a UK basketball fan. I’d like for Pope to take it upon himself to leave but that won’t happen either.

I voted no but honestly I have no idea. To me it's a guess at this point with team and Pope. Win the rest or lost the rest would not even surprise me at this point. Just blah on where we are as a program.
Ask Jeckyl ...no ask Hyde.

Our seasons over don’t matter anymore. Not gonna win the regular season Auburn sucks but will find a way to Lose im sure . Will have a 8 seed a horrible seed . Kentucky should be getting a 1 seed 4 out of 10 years and a 2-3 seed 7 of them

UK hasn't been getting a 1 seed 4 out of 10 years in a decade ever other than the 90s. Not sure that's realistic based on history.

Didn’t say they were getting 1 seeds I said they should and it is realistic maybe 3 out of 10 years and the others 2-3 and at worst a 4 seed

I predicted a Kentucky win in Red’s thread. However, the more I think about it, it wouldn’t surprise me if Auburn hammers us.

They should do one of 3 things
Win the sec regular season
Win the sec championship
Elite 8 or final four that’s a successful season
And in some years 2 of 3 those should be the standard at Kentucky and
90% winning percentage at home

I think this team barely gets to 20 wins this season. They beat one of SC/Auburn, and win a surprise game against one of Florida/Vanderbilt/A&M. Then they get one win in the SEC tourney before losing in the SEC Tourney, followed by a first round loss in the NCAA Tourney.

20-14 final record.

Pope goes 44-26 (63% winning percentage) in his first two seasons here. Mitch justifies the shizzstain of a coaching job by blaming everything on injuries at the end of the year.

This is probably the right answer. Pope never gets bad enough to get fired but never good enough to excite fans. But he’ll still probably get another 2 seasons to be utterly mediocre while other programs blast past us and we’re never able to catch up again because of this program’s administration’s refusal to hold people making millions of dollars accountable.

Disagree. If he has an average year in year three, he’s fired. Period. Nothing that happens, including losing out, gets him fired this year, but it still matters because each loss means next year has to be even better. He’s, at minimum going to need a strong regular season and Sweet 16 next year to even hang onto the job IMO. For me personally, even that isn’t enough — he needs an Elite Eight and coach better defense. And I like Pope and want it to work. Just being real.

You have far more faith in Mitch Barnhart and/or his, probably handpicked, successor than I do, frankly.

As long as butts are in Rupp Arena’s seats and he doesn’t miss the tournament, the admin are fat and happy. Your only hope is boosters aren’t.

I go with what Matt Jones says on this stuff. When he’s giving you big picture stuff, you may as well listen closely. While we do have big boosters at the school, no one is bigger than the Crafts and Matt is very close friends to them. So when Matt is telling you Pope is in a “prove it or lose it “ year 3, it’s not a random shot in the dark. Mitch won’t even be at the school by the summer, and it would matter anyway. Just like with Stoops who Barnhart didn’t want to part with, the boosters let him know it was time to move on. Those voices matter more than Mitch or Marc Hill on these things.

This team is just so weird and inconsistent. I want to say hell no, but this Jekyll and Hyde team could walk in their and shock us and come out with a win.
In all honesty, how bad does it have to be before pope has a talk with himself and acknowledges this is not uk basketball and he can’t continue to run it into the ground?
Could anyone quit a job making five plus million dollars for hanging around a gym all day and being a celebrity. I couldn’t, but I certainly understand why you would ask the question. I thought and hoped he would be great here but has been average at best. I’m still holding out hope that this season was a wash with injuries and bad attitudes or some other excuse and he’ll kill it from now on. That hope is getting slimmer by the day though.

I think so, UK is leading the conference in 3 % and Auburn is not that good defending the perimeter. Could come down to the wire.

What do you mean you like Pope. Do you know him Personally are you meaning from a coaching perspective. I don't know what like has got to do with it. You crap in one hand and hope in the other, see which one fills up first.

Average at best means he for the most part is below average. Why do we want a below average anything here.

I like some of Pope’s positive qualities as a basketball coach. I don’t know Pope at all personally. Don’t know what to say about that last line, just wow lol.

Sadly, it doesn’t matter if this year was an anomaly with injuries (despite last year also having injuries), if he can’t get anyone in the 2026 class, I have even slimmer hope that he’ll knock it out of the park come portal season.

I’m actually really concerned about the portal class. It wouldn’t shock me if we don’t end up watching a bunch of other schools pick up guys while we also miss out on every portal target. What if we go weeks without a commit even in the portal? We’ll be desperate and players, particularly the less stellar ones, will see it as an opportunity to fleece us.

To be brutally honest, a 3rd year Pope is meaningless because everyone, including the players, will expect him to fail and avoid him even more than this year. We’re wasting a precious year that could be used for a new coach to stretch his feet just to watch Pope be set up for failure. Everyone knows he’ll be a lame duck. It’s infuriating.

Ohh I don’t. lol. I want to dominate and give it all out there. I didn’t see the 100% earlier this season for whatever reason.

Could be anything from a one-point win to a 30-point beatdown. Flip a coin
