I haven't looked for myself, but Jack Pilgrim said Auburn, at 14-11 (when he said it), is rated higher than us at 17-9 in the metrics. Yikes.
Tigers are going to be hungry like UGA was for a win. They play us at home where they have been good all year. They lost to TX am, Bama, and Vandy by a combined 12 pts at home and beat Arky by 22. It will be a tough win.
They dropped 4 spots below us on KenPom after losing to a bad Mississippi State team last night. The basic premise remains that this is one of those games that you hate when you’re jockeying for tournament seeding though. A road game against a team whose metrics are much better than their record, meaning it will be a tough game to win, and we probably won’t get much credit for it if we do.
I was counting this one as a loss all along. But was counting UGA as a win. We need to go 3-3 these last 6 games to feel comfortable about getting a bid.
I hope the team that won at Tennessee and won at Arkansas shows up. If that team shows up, they win. If the team that played passive vs Georgia shows up, they will lose.
