The Standard Has Changed at Richmond High School for the Arts

What a journey. We just wrapped up my first year leading this program with a hard-fought Senior Night win — and I couldn’t be more proud of this group.
This season was a masterclass in resilience and growth. We didn’t just play a schedule… we built a culture. Watching these young men buy into the vision, trust the system, and compete until the final buzzer was the most rewarding part of year one back home.
We proved we belong with anybody. Signature wins that made statements:
• Road win at Douglas S. Freeman High School• Silencing the crowd at Clover Hill High School on their Senior Night• Winning “The Battle for Southside” at Huguenot High School on their Senior Night
These weren’t just wins. They were statements. Hostile gyms. Established programs. Higher classifications. And our guys walked in and handled business.
Huge thank you to my coaching staff. We don’t operate like a typical high school program. Drawing from my time at Virginia Commonwealth University and 10 years playing professionally overseas, we run this like a college program. Film study. Preparation. Daily standards. Everything we do is about development and getting our players to the next level.
To the Richmond community The New RHSA is here. We’re building a destination for players who want to be coached, challenged, and prepared.
The foundation is set. The work for next year starts now.
