The RAC has never been that lifeless and embarrassing !!
No matter the record and no matter if it’s 4000 or 8500 the building will get loud at some point in the game.

I’ve been on the very negative side this year but like just about everyone one here on this site I’ve watched every second this season

Every time we play at PSU I am amazed at how that school which is supposedly “sports crazy” and “most spirited” manages to completely forget about men’s basketball. Literally what else are their students doing right now, hiking in the mountains?

They sell out for hockey and wrestling that’s what they care about in winter

They're spoiled brats. Most of their sports are championship caliber, the moment they have any adversity they vanish like cock roaches when a light gets turned on.

Even in football, this year they were 3-6 or 4-6 and their stadium was 70% full...but they will mock us for attendance.

The majority of fans in the RAC are not students of course. Local-ish Alum and others who work/live within 20-80 minutes of the place. They can make it there during a weekday game. Their location does not lend itself to that. There is nothing there but the school.

You expect a PSU fan to be impressed by RU's attendance ?
BTW, wait 'til RU beats them in football. I know some of their fans who still have nightmares from the 2025 game. One said to me "you know it's bad when you are lucky to beat Rutgers."
I just can't wait.

Some of you fogot about those "fans" preaching to us about giving up our tickets and saying they were no longer interested in college nasketball. All BS.

I have said for YEARS that rutgers doesn’t deserve its fanbase

While i agree that this REALLY applies in basketball - I think the football team (even when they really stink) gets more fans-in-seats than most crappy teams would get

cynics will probably say something about this being a sign that RU fans accept mediocrity, etc (and they have a point) and some will probably criticize RU fans for not giving enough $$$ for NIL, etc (again a legit point) but that doesn’t change the fact that RU fans support the team even when we aren’t great much more than most other schools

That doesn't explain why hockey and wrestling matches are packed. Like most people, they are fair weather fans. It's human nature so not a criticism. RU fans and people in Jersey are built different.
