We have a Georgia basketball staff, literally. Them just showing up cuts the chances of the dream team in half. I can see Pope coaching that team.

Barkley to Jordan - “why he keep subbin me out for Laettner?

It’s amazing how bad he is. I’m shocked I thought that was the one thing he’d be great at. He’s worse than Gillispie, and he blocked free throws!!

Mitch hired a coach worse than his Gillispie hire 🤣

I’d take current Billy G over Pope. I just can’t take Popes baby talk anymore. All this treating grown *** D1 athletes like elementary school is frustrating. Pats on the shoulder.

He tries to have an NBA-type rotation in the first half. Everyone plays the same minutes every game, no matter what, in the first half. There are 82 games in an NBA season, so they can do that in that league.

In college, every game is hugely important to seeding, ranking, fans, scouts, etc. You have to have your finger on the pulse and he doesn't.

One of our lead coaches was fired from Georgia. Maybe we don't have a Georgia coaching staff. We are taking what they don't want.

Unfortunately because he's kind of still a rookie coach ......he's still learning. That's the absolute truth. This is not somebody with 15 years as a coach. He has to live and learn I guess and just hope that he can put this thing together eventually.

You can see it in the way he coaches. He's learning on the job my friends.
He either falls apart as time goes on or he becomes very good because he's smart and he learns.

I kind of bet on number two. Pope is smart. I'm hoping he sees everything eventually.

He's had almost 11 years of learning on the job..4 years at Utah Valley, 5 years at BYU, and almost 2 years at UK. If a Coach is still learning on the job and sucking *** at recruiting after 10+ years, something is wrong. Even going by you what you said, so, that means we have to suffer while Pope learns on the job ? We have to fall behind KU in all time wins again while Pope learns on the job ? We have to keep losing multiple home games a year while Pope learns on the job ? We have to take multiple blowout losses a year while Pope learns on the job ? How long does he get to learn on the job before we can hold him accountable ? Man, I wish I could tell my Supervisor that he can't fire me if I was to suck at my job because I'm still learning on the job after 7 years. 🤔

Pope is not going to let a player break a sweat! That’s against the Pope Code of Ethics…

Sweating = Coach abusing a player

He acts like their makeup is going to run and affect their performance! 🤣

Sorry not sorry, I’m Gen X to the core, and this participation trophy shtick gets my blood boiling💯💯

Are you stupid? You don’t come to Kentucky to learn on the job.

Worst UK Basketball coach in my lifetime!
No, that would be Billy Clyde lol. Yes, Clyde wouldn't pat players on the back like Pope but he would tell a player to stop shooting 3's that was hitting every single one. Pope has forgotten more about basketball than Clyde will ever know. Look, I'm as mad as everyone else about losing to Georgia but Clyde was hands down the worst coach ever at Kentucky.

Not much difference between Pope and Billy Clyde, imo. They’re both horrible.

Not sure on being a rookie coach. He became a head coach in 2015. Just for comparison, Todd Golden became a head coach in 2019.

Ky fans should not be mad at Pope for taking the job, he did what any coach in that position would do, MITCH BARNHART is solely responsible for this mess he should resign for what he has done to our basketball program or the people with the power should fire his @SS.

Clyde defended free throws like nobody before or since, a true mastermind
