Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde drexler after a Rockets game many moons ago. Hakeem was so big.
Lynn Swann at Masters (Berckman Place) last year. Dude was super nice.
Darren Clarke and Tim Finchem at Pinehurst in 2014. Darren was great and drunk after missing cut. Saw Rory sitting in chair in bar lobby but he didnt want to be bothered.
Played golf with David Toms one day.
Lou Holtz
Odd, I was going to post that Hakeem Olajuwon is married to my sisters half sister.

Wenger's facial epxression makes him seem lke a guy with a sour and serious outlook - but am glad to hear that you had a good experience with him. Wish he could have been a more consistent winner with The Arsenal, but I like Mikel Arteta and the trajectory. *Hoping I didn't jinx anything by saying that.*
Actually Wenger did a helluva job to keep them somewhat competitive as long as he did after they left Highbury. The amount of debt the club took on building Emirates seriously tied Wenger's hands. I think a couple of years the only way the club was in the black was from selling top talent.

While in the AF stationed in Germany I had to come home in '89 for my G'Dad's funeral. On my flight back to Germany I flew from Memphis to Pittsburg for my conx to Frankfurt. While I was waiting I saw a dude about my age with some Steelers logo on his clothes. So I mentioned he must be a Steelers fan and he kinda chuckled and said yeah, I told him my little brother was a huge Steelers fan as was my brother in law but that I was a cowboys fan. He laughed and said he got it and most of America is Cowboy fans. I made further small talk with him and dude was super nice guy. He asked me what I was doing in Germany and I told him I was AF. He shook my hand and said he appreciated me or something to that extent. I asked what he was doing in Germany and he said it was a promotion for the NFL and Steelers. I said that's cool, you work for the organization and he said kinda, his Dad owned the Steelers. I went kinda numb at that point and he just kept talking in a casual way. We talked for about 30 minutes or longer until we started boarding. He was on the plane in 1st class and as I was boarding he stopped me and thanked me again for my service and wished me a good flight. Once in the air a stewardess came and got me and took me to 1st class and there was a seat available by him and he invited me to stay and chat. At some point the meals were being served and I excused my self and he told me I could stay but I went on back to my seat. Once we landed in Germany, he was waiting for me outside and gave me an official Steelers sweat suit or wind breaker suit. I gave them to my brother and brother in law. I have a pic but it's probably at my parents house. He is now the Owner of the Steelers.

Very very nice guy.

2nd post in this thread because I'm 59 and must be getting CRS.

I'm a huge Bills fan and 29 years ago I found out they were going to be at CJ's Pizza in Columbus the night before their golf tournament with Kent Hull so I went and hung out and drank beer with Kent Hull, Will Woolford, Darryl Talley, Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas and Steve Tasker for about 5hours. Spent most of the time with Darryl Talley. Tasker is so small that I didn't even recognize him until Kent Hull pointed him out and said "There's the baddest man to ever strap it on". At the time I was 6' 195 and Hull, Woolford and Talley made me look like a little boy. Andre Reed was almost my exact size (without the beer gut), Thurman Thomas was a 5'10" ball of solid muscle who looked like a body builder and Tasker appeared about 5'8 or 5'9 160lbs.

This reminds me, Dexter Carter. Hes come to our store multiple times. Loves that i knew who he was right up front. He really likes to flex about his son and his marketing attempts. Hes a slight dude though. I'd squash him, if i caught him.

Shared a hunting lease with Brett Favre and Dr. James Andrews for several years in IL.

Sat next to Tom Coughlin on flight from Atlanta to Indy. Also sat next to Kevin Nash on that same leg another time. He barely fit in first class.

Wife worked for Hendricks motorsports when Jimmie, Gordon, mark martin and Dale Jr were on the team. Mr. Hendricks is a super good guy. Most were good guys except Chad Knaus. (no love lost between he and I). Meet Richard Petty and Mario Andretti through that as well.

Ran into Sir Rod Stewart standing at a crosswalk in Chicago late one night with his family. We were only ones on the street. Gave the knowing nod and he smiled and did the same.

Had dinner with Joe Madden right after Cubs won the ship while in Tampa for the Bama/Clemson NC game.

Also I am married to the granddaughter of the late Donna Douglas (aka Elly May Clampett). Spent a ton of time with her before she passed away.
So many more. All great memories.
Damn, Ellie May was a stunner back in the day........

Met Dave Chappell outside a bar in Tupelo about 15 years ago. He was traveling down the Trace on his motorcycle with a group and stopped in for the night. I asked him for a picture and he agreed only if I could find him a menthol cigarette. Never smoked but I was able to to get him one. Some ******* stole his tag off his bike and had to go file a report at TPD the next morning. Hilarious in person and most down to earth guy ever.

I enlisted Napoleon Bonaparte, Socrates, Abraham Lincoln, Joan of Arc, and ghengis khan to help me with a non-heinous history report several years ago. Socrates and JofA were pretty chill, but Napoleon was a piggy and genghis was kind of a dick, too, tbh. Abe was a freaking gentleman.

Debbie Gibson was dating a guy who I was performing in a show with back in 1991 and I met her when she was hanging out backstage and chatted for a few.
Had a wonderful long interaction at Deville Camera with Mary Ann Mobley and Gary Collins.
I met author James Michener that same summer and talked to him for a few minutes.
Speaking of authors, I've interacted with John Grisham many times.
I went to California twice to consult on a movie script with Ron Bass, who wrote Rain Man and other notable films.
Dick Van Patten saw my show at the Magic Castle in the early 2000s and we spoke afterward.
Copperfield, Blaine, and Angel and many other lesser known magicians.
Eubie Blake isn't pop culture famous today, but he was a major figure in American music and I met him as a child.
Chatted with Gerald McRaney and Delta Burke for about 30 minutes in the Sky Club at LAX.
Michael Vick, Arthur Blank, and lots of Falcons including Jerrious.

I knew Herman Cain well enough that he would recognize me from one event to the next and call me by name.
Met William Bennett, Dennis Prager, Jonah Goldberg, and Dee Dee Myers at different events over the years where I was speaking or performing.

Waylon Jennings and Jesse Colter at a random Texas diner. Also met Vern Gosden and visited with him for a while. I bet half the people on here don’t know who Vern is. Set em up Joe!

Ive met a number of famous people but probably the coolest interaction was with Evander Holyfield. My cousin and I did not approach him but he approached us at a bar in Atlanta after he was done speaking with some other people. We ended up talking boxing with him for probably a half hour. It was pretty awesome.

So my real answer is pretty typical for a Mississippian, with one curveball.

1) Morgan Freeman- heard he was a prick. Couldn’t have been nicer to me. We sat and had drinks for about an hour one time. Great conversationalist.

2) Brett Favre- heard he was a prick. And he was. Have sat/stood next to him at a handful of USM baseball games because we have some mutual friends. Guy is a jerk.

3) Kacey Musgraves- this one still blows my mind. For years, my wife talked about her friend “Casey” who was a musician in Texas. Didn’t think much of it. She might have mentioned her last name but I didn’t remember it. Then she was performing nearby and my wife asked to go. So I’m thinking, “you might know her, but you don’t seem like friends.” I bought decent tickets. No VIP or backstage or anything. She gets done performing, and my wife is on the phone when she asks me, “Do you want to meet Kacey?”

We go to an area near the stage, and Kacey comes out to get us. My mind was blown. Btw, that girl is gorgeous in person. Oh and she smokes A LOT of weed. So Kacey and my wife are catching up when she turns to me and says, “Your wife was always the pretty one in our friend group.”

My response was, “She still is.” I definitely got laid that night.

Had a beer with Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro at Platinum Plus in (I think 2003) when they were in Memphis filming 21 Grams. They could not have been more approachable or nicer.

Jerry Rice at the MSU golf course in about 2007 or 2008…. He tee’d off just before us and we chatted for a while. Nice guy.

Herschel Walker… played in the pro am for the Sanderson farms tournament one year. He was nice and still looked like he could play in the NFL (I think this was 2016)

Margot Robbie in London once. I was in London for work and friend and I were out drinking getting ready to head to a new place for more drinks and food. I was half drunk and couldn’t figure out how to get the bar we were trying to get to. I asked someone while we stopped at a cross walk if they knew where the place was. Turns out it was Margot Robbie. She offered to walk us to the bar since it was on her way. About a block in I finally realized who she was. Really nice and down to earth. And maybe one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen.

Gretzky's definitely not 5'8" and he's been married to Janet Jones, who was one of the hottest women on the planet in her prime, for decades. They've got 5 kids.

So were you hitting on her, or was Wayne stepping out on her in a hotel bar??
Well, I'm 6' 2" and he was significantly shorter than me. I took a look at his wife after you posted that, and that wasn't her. It isn't hard to imagine that one of the most famous athletes in the world has *connections* in different area codes.

Spring/summer of 2014, I played golf in a foursome with Chauncey Billups at City Park Golf Course for a summer. We'd play a cash game of Wolf or skins. They kept it "easy" on me with a limit of a few hundred bucks. That was fun and expensive.

Jerry Rice - used to let him in the tin gym to play basketball. He talked to me a lot but I'm sure he was just working the hookup***

Billy Graham - actually got to pray with him. I was pretty young then but in awe and he had this presence that you couldn't really define. It's one of those moments that sticks with you forever.

Darren Woodsen - ran into him at an ACM pre and post party at the Star in Frisco a couple of years ago. He's a very solid dude.

Trace Gallagher- I was with a small work group headed to HI and we ran into him at LAX last year. We talked to him for over 30 minutes. He made a genuine effort to shake our hands and get our names. We also ran into him at our hotel in HI a few days later and he remembered our names.
Not sure how I forgot that met Billy Graham as well at the Marriott Sawgrass lobby.
He was in a wheelchair by then but still shook his hand and got a picture with him.
