We have to have a repeat of the Manning year where other teams defeated our most dreaded opponents. In mid year I thought FAU and USF were the top two concerns. Not sure what has happened to FAU. The teams that still concern me the most are USF, USF, and USF. I did watch Hodgson lose the last two times they played Troy last year though. Maybe Rigsby can fill us in on the secret since he started on the Troy team that beat Hodgson's A-State.
I still think Memphis has the best 5-star talent and could be tough to beat when a bid is on the line, despite Penny, and USF is what we thought they were.

I think Carlyle happened or didn't happen. Through most of this losing streak they didn't have their #2 scorer, PG, co-assist leader & their more senior conducter on a team that has a lot of young players. I'm assuming they just needed him, as a scorer in general, but also as someone who orchestrated the offense better, & I'm assuming other teams did things to defend him that they didn't have to do without him. The teams who beat them in the losing streak(which was almost everybody) could just focus on other players a lot harder. They just didn't have a replacement(s) for him.

With him and that sub at full strength, they lost the first game of their losing streak. That was a road game and he played 36 min. They still lost by 14 @USF. They finally got him back just in time to come in and play the home against USF, his first game back at full strength. They only lost by 2 at home. That's closer than we played them. Maybe he didn't have time to adjust to playing full tilt after having been out for a few weeks. Maybe they were just not quite good enough to beat them in either game this year, like us.

There's a good chance that USF is not the only team we've got to be careful of in the tourney. We'll have to watch what they do in their final five games. They have a couple of warm up road games @ UTSA, then N Texas. Then they play home games against Temple & Charlotte, and then a road game against Wichita St.

We have lost to 4 teams in conference so far. So let's say at least 4. We should be worried about 4 at a minimum.

We beat Wichita St by 10 at home and lost by 4 there. N Texas even moreso. They beat us by 5 there and we came back and beat Texas del Norte by 16. I'm not in fear of N Texas in Birmingham and I have a healthy respect for Wichita. That's not a game we can phone it in, but it's not one to fear.

USF, maybe FAU, and UAB are gomes we might want to avoid. UAB because it's home. Although we played like such a crap team against UAB at home, our players might come in with a vengeance and beat them with their pants off.

My point is that we can obviously lose to many teams if we are not on point (and shooting well). There is not a ton of margin for error.

I'm talking about teams I might be worried that we can't beat them no matter what happens that night/afternoon. Of course we can lose to almost any team in the league. Play like we played against UAB and we might even lose to UTSA. Never said we couldn't. Charlotte can attest to that with a 9 pt loss at home to UTSA.

After being up 12 after the first break of the second half. I turned the game off because charlotte got that big lead in the second half. Shocked when I saw UTSA won.

To see the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games and wish to fly, the best option is to fly from TUL into Huntsville on AA , and take a 2 hour one way rental car to Birmingham arriving for the noon game Friday. Return out of Birmingham Sunday evening . At this point who knows, a good team could be knocked out Thursday.

Why Huntsville? There's no directs from Tulsa to either airport so why not just fly into BHM?

I didn‘t see the game but read or heard on TV that WSU got a 4 point play at the end of regulation to sent it to OT.

That may have given WSU 2nd place. if they can win at Memphis. Another game I will be rooting for Memphis. :)

I just saw the play on a highlight reel. There wasn’t much contact but the officials hand went up immediately. Usually with 12 seconds left that wouldn’t be called.

ECU had plenty of chances to put that thing away. At the end of the first OT, there were 3.5 seconds left with ECU up by 2. All they had to do was inbound the ball and WSU would have had to foul to put them on the line. They dueced up the inbound pass and WSU picked it up for a game tying 2 pointer with 1.3 seconds left to send it to a second overtime and then attrition by fouls took care of the rest

I saw that on my phone at the RC.

Complete fail by ecu and our former assistant coach.
