Of all sports baseball has the most variability. It’s really hard to sweep teams. Even the very best teams like the Dodgers crawl over 100 wins and lose near 60.
I like what I saw this weekend. Put the ball in play and you give yourself a chance, the other team has to make plays
I was at the basketball game and didn’t get to watch today . A sweep of a good B1G team to start the season is hard to complain about though.
3-0 vs a good team is good, period. Great way to start the season.
I mean, a UNC throwing error of its own is why the game was even 3-1 to begin with. Obviously, the throw from Schaffner was more difficult, but that’s a former conference DPOY. He makes that throw 99 times out of 100.
Is OJ and Seagraves ok? I would have liked to have seen Forbes go to one of these guys instead of Padgett for a second time in the first game.
I guess OJ and Seagraves start the midweek games if healthy.

Especially since the baseball program is the only one of our 3 teams that is living up to any reasonable level of high standards right now.
It’s like people come on here that never watch baseball. You know how hard it is to sweep a team in the manner we did this weekend? It ain’t easy.
Yeah I'd assume they are starters for Tuesday and Wednesday's games. Looking forward to seeing them both.
Why must people look for negatives? It is hard to win, no matter the sport, no matter the level. Enjoy the Ws when they happen, especially in a sweep.

This team is a work in progress. This team has more upside than last year's team in my opinion by a long way. I honestly was wrong last year so i could be wrong again. Last years team was old and didn't have a lot room to improve but VDB, Stoke and Bass did really improve. Last years team also didn't have a lot of players who would be drafted and i thought they had reached their peak but they fooled me. This years team has much better players from a draft standpoint and thus much more room for growth and development especially when the transfer class and freshmen settle in to the routine of playing at Carolina and the staff figures out everything. This doesn't mean they will be better but the potential is there for this team to be truly amazing.

I love Carolina baseball, but how do you define significant here? In terms of popularity? In terms of winning?
If we’re talking winning, baseball doesn’t crack the top 3 of all the teams on campus.
If not for a wild throw by the 2nd baseman we are 2-1. First game left fielder looses 2 easy fly balls that lead to runs. That’s what I’m talking about just stating what took place. We had good fortune all I’m saying but u want to make more out of it and can’t
I’m not doing anything except poking good natured fun, but since you brought it up were there no breaks in the game that benefitted Indiana?
I’m not saying you’re wrong, but the series finale came down to who took advantage of the errors. We did, they didn’t. We definitely didn’t have some crazy showing at the plate, but I’d say Indiana is a better baseball team than TT was last year at this point and we were much better offensively to start this year than last. It’s baseball, nothing wins or loses on one pitch or play there’s always 9 innings (or 11 lol) that leads up to the W/L.
I’m not sure what point you are trying to prove here or whatever, but I don’t think this conversation requires any more clarification.

If you ask any college sports fan the three most significant sports, almost all will say football, basketball, baseball. Likely in that order too.
