Spratley did not get a takedown and loses in ride outs. He was the aggressor but didn't score and only rode for seconds and then got rode out. Jax gave up 3 takedowns and wins a razor thin 10 to 9 decision. His strength, balance and explosiveness did not look great. I think we should redshirt him because that seemed like a c- wrestling. Vega actually got some takedowns on his shot( important) and gets a major with 2 takedowns in the 3rd period. Hickman loses in overtime by giving up a takedown in over time. He needed to ride out the 3rd period for the win. Landon wins 3 to 2 with his opponent giving him 2 points on stalling. Not a good match by Robideau. Dee wins by decision but should have a least got a major but there was 3 minutes where Dee did not get a takedown.
VT actually takes a couple shots at 174 impressive change of strategy.
Facundo almost gave up a takedown at the end of the 3rd period but on the finish, he ducked under his opponents arm and gets behind for the takedown and win. Not impressive for Facundo, his worst match in quite a while.

seidel and jax have wrestled many times and that match was an A+ grinder win for jax
not everything is gonna go your way and when you respond down 6-1 with a TD and swipes to pull out a win on the road

Dee is a winner though. He he probably has the best balance on both of his feet on the team and he always seems to find a way to win. I didn’t know coming into this season how good his defense and top ride were.

Dopps assassinated any chance of me wanting to watch him in the future.
We look tired overall. Coach must have run them down before this dual.

Most boring dual I've ever seen. 133 was good. Sets wrestling back IMO
Merrill got robbed! Should have been a TD with 1 second left.
Dopps loses. Merrill loses because he missed on takedowns and he held on top when his opponent was on his feet. when he had a stalling call already. Cody found a way to lose.
No offense, but this is a poor take IMO. Not totally wrong though.
The Jax match was electric as hell against a guy that has bonuses 100% of his opponents. Was it a great showing from Jax? He made some mistakes, but that just showed his talent. He Wrestled his worst match yet and still beat a guy that’s been spanking everyone.
On the rest, VaTech is Wrestling to keep it close. We are at least trying to score for the most part, they aren’t.
I actually liked when Dee stood there with his leg out and arms down, showed just how bad his guy was stalling
VT wrestlers stall more than Iowa’s team. The Ref needs to go back to officiating high school matches.

Pokes win 19-12. Weird dual. Stalling calls were very off kilter throughout this match. BT very much feels like Iowa where most of the guys want to be defensive and stall through the match. Unfortunately our guys like to match that feel when we wrestle teams like that. We do that again next week and Iowa will beat us again.
Doucet wins 6 to 1 with a takedown and 2 back points off a Petersen. His opponent shot, no reaction by Doucet, scramble a little and Doucet ends up in position to grab an arm and leg for a takedown and 2 back points. Not a good effort by the team but a win over a good team.
Noticed a couple of posts mentioned we looked tired but I also felt like we were not agressive in most matches.
