Feel free to add as these are off the top of my head… Keith Jackson will always hold the “Voice of college football” as I grew up listening to him and Mushburger (who I am not fond of)
You have a great list. I am adding a couple oldtimers, Chris Schenkel, who many of you may have never heard live, but a very good game caller, great voice, who called many great games and did it well. He called the Texas vs Arkansas 1969 game for the Natty which was called the "game of the century" and that year. He called some big games. Keith Jackson replaced Schenkel doing ABC footballFeel free to add as these are off the top of my head… Keith Jackson will always hold the “Voice of college football” as I grew up listening to him and Mushburger (who I am not fond of)

I hear Schenkel’s voice when I think of bowling! You have a great list. And Lindsey Nelson, on CBS mostly, who told the audience "Ladies and gentlemen, Army did not score again! This is not live!" during the first-ever televised instant replay on December 7, 1963. I remember watching that game when Army Navy was really a top 10 type game with Staubach, etc.
Jackson
Got to mention radio Jim Zabel. Who can forget “I love it I love it I love it”!
Pat is going to be a legend for damn sure!Keith Jackson is just nostalgic for me. The voice of College Football for half a century!
I also really like Chris Speilman. I am very impressed with how Pat Angerer has done in the booth so far on radio for the Hawkeyes... those 2 kind of remind me of eachother.
Chris Martin, his counterpart for infamous MSU, made the great “7 got 6” call. He was really good at it in the short time he was in broadcasting. I heard he got into personal finance and would be surprised if he’s not doing well there.Wayne Larrave
Had lunch with him. . Nice guy
Keith Jackson and Bob Griese. A girl down on the sidelines.Chris Martin, his counterpart for infamous MSU, made the great “7 got 6” call. He was really good at it in the short time he was in broadcasting. I heard he got into personal finance and would be surprised if he’s not doing well there.
I liked Jim Zabel, but just had an issue with the dysphemisms that he used sometimes (i.e., calling an opposing team named after gophers as "rodents" repeatedly during at least one broadcast).Jackson

You must be older than I am, a distinction being held by fewer and fewer people these days. You have a great list. Didn’t Chris Schenkel call the first Iowa-ISU game when the series resumed? You have a great list. Yes he did.Didn’t Chris Schenkel call the first Iowa-ISU game when the series resumed?
Spielman was absolutely brilliant in a Florida Iowa bowl game where Hawks got badly jobbed by the refs, Outback or Citrus Bowl 2007 I think. He jumped to the front of the pack for me in that game.My three favorites are (in no particular order and for probably different reasons) Curt Gowdy (1960s and 1970s), Bob Costas (1990s) and Chris Spielman. Gowdy is favored due to nostalgia and eloquence; Costas for his unequaled level of eloquence; and Spielman for his humor (see below)
My all-time favorite line of Spielman's was a response to his co-announcer's comment that "he's been tackled in the backfield for a loss by the ubiquitous A.J. Hawk."
To which Spielman replied, "not only is he that, but he is everywhere on the field, it seems."
You think of bowling?I hear Schenkel’s voice when I think of bowling!
Or watching bowling? You think of bowling?
