Looked like a physically and emotionally tired team in the first half. Second half was much, much sharper. Glad Frager was not hurt, he hit the floor hard. Nice (almost) 20 point win and no one slipped on opposing sweat puddles 👍

Yeah but that was against a much better opponent. I can't stand Purdue, but they are pretty good. Northwestern is MAC-level team.
NW is bad but Chris Collins is a really good coach and for the most part a class act.

He clearly could have left NW lots of times but he must just love it there. NW will probably get stupid and can him in a few years and will end up with 50 years of horrible coaches.

Yeah Collins has had some okay teams there, I just don't think this is one of them. If the Huskers had been playing a better opponent today, they're probably down by 15 at halftime.

Yeah but the mop boys were sleeping at the wheel again. Ref had to stop play to get them to wipe up moisture by the opposing teams huddle.

Watched the first half on TV and then listened to the radio for the second half. The tidbits a person gets from different media sources is beneficial sometimes. Pavelka had laryngitis so not quite the homer excitement. However, Jeff Smith gave a couple insights as to why there was some sloppy play. First, NW was doing a lot of switching - but he said they were switching late. So they disguised their switches apparently. While it looked like they were not going to switch, they did and they got some steals off of that. The second is that NW was very aggressive on the double teams in the post. Smitty said Mast was getting mauled down low, but the officials did not call any fouls. This could be some "homerism," but what I watched in the first half made sense on both those points by listening to the radio.

Another tidbit from Smith, while not specific to Xs and Os, was the game strategy by Hoiberg. Not only yesterday, but in other games this year. Hoiberg has done a good job of riding with the players that are giving them the most production. They play for extended periods of time rather than sticking to a rigid substitution pattern. The combination of players seems to change almost every game, with the exception of Sam and Pryce.

Collins is a really good coach. They gameplan very well. His downfall is he cannot get enough guys on the team that are difference makers. They only have 1 right now.

For NW...Nick FARTinelli (Ha!) should have left, he could have got paid and would have been a huge difference maker on a FF type team. Dude can defend, he can grind, he can score.

Frager was posting about the portal online and then it got deleted. Gonna have to really enjoy these last 8 or so games.

I think to get a double bye in the tournament we need to be a top 4 team. Do we need to win out to get there? Luckily we don't play any ranked teams but IA and west coast teams are going to play tough bc they're trying to get into the tournament and a win vs nu would really help.
