Neubeck is an enigma, based primarily on a serious injury that caused him to miss much of the 2023 season and all of 2024. His pre-injury stats indicate someone who strikes out a lot of batters... 88 K in 73 IP. He also limited opponents to a BAA of .218, although his ERA was 5+, due primarily to a propensity to serve up the gopher ball... 17 in 73 IP. His stats last year returning from the injury were, shall we say... awful... 16 BB and 15 K in 17.1 IP, with an ERA of 16.62 and BAA of ,429. He also continued to allow the long ball, with 9 HR in 17.1 IP.

One caveat... prior to this year, he pitched in the SEC at Missouri.

My head tells me they’ve named him the Friday guy because his stuff may have returned over the fall/preseason. His recent numbers certainly don’t back up starting Opening Day. I hope we come out raking. Our offense is certainly the biggest question mark to start the year. I’d love to send a message the next three days at the plate.

i think it's a safe assumption that 16.62 ERA is not representative of who Indiana thinks he is. He did record a 0.56 ERA in 16 innings playing in the Appy League last summer, so there's clearly something there.

Which leads to the question…..who goes yard first for the Heels? I’ll go with Nicholson.

Decided last minute to scoop up some tix. Taking my 3.5 year old son. This will be his first ever Carolina game. I don’t know who is more excited me or him!
Raising him right dad.
My then teenage daughter was my Bosh Buddy. I should post a story about that when I have time.

Very weird seeing only one returning starter in the lineup

Excited to see how we gel throughout the year especially in the corner outfield spots / DH

Weird question—is there a radio broadcast? I’m on a run and was planning to listen to the first few innings.

DeCaro sharp early.....finishes the at bat on the inside corner for the K looking. Finishing at bats has been a big thing Carolina's arms have worked on off season....as is consistency....walks the next batter.....

Rest of inning.....Winslow backs picks Denny for out two, DeCaro Ks Stewart.....

And interesting 3U3D for DeCaro but it works....

Gavin starts his year off in the positive, with a beautiful arching line drive to shallow center off a 89 mph offering.

Huge swing by Hull there, his plate discipline will be something to watch
