This really sucks for them and I feel their pain. I know everyone of us here hate to see something like this happen. We all wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Just in time for the NBA draft.

I hate it for the kid. He seems like a decent young man... If there is a silver lining, more time to study Swahili for that Ph.D in African American studies all UNC players get as a freshman. Not that he actually needs to study. Or go to class. Or do any work. Or even know where Africa is on the map...

Carolina had the same thing happen to Brad Daugherty in the 1984 sweet 16 game against IU. In January of that same season, Kenny Smith broke his wrist. I was living in Chapel Hill that year and thought for sure that UK and UNC would meet for the title in Seattle.
Also happened to Kendall Marshall the year AD & company won our last title.

I’m all for anything that keeps the teams I hate out of contention so whatever. We’ve dealt with injuries, I personally hurt my own play with a bad injury, injuries are a part of the games so ya know, happens. As long as it avoids my teams (it doesn’t) I’m fine. He chose not to be here and UNC should be stripped of 3 titles so I’m not concerned with the well wishes. He’ll be fine.

That was my favorite year of college basketball. It was clash of the titans

I really hate to see any young man oir woman playing any sport get injured while trying to perform or in practice or ... whatever. I hope he can heal and return soon. I really do and I do mean that.

That said, nobody has EVER cried a river more than Kentucky fans over the injuries we have seen ( me personally, over 50 years worth) and they don't shed a tear nor mention it when any season is over ... it's only us, BBN, that carries so many of those memories with us.

And I'm not saying other memorable teams and players havent had major season altering changes with injuries, either.

What I am saying is, I am not crying for the CHEATS. No excuses. None of them ever gave us any leeway for criticism when we had players go down. for any length of time. It's one definite sign I look at Coach pope and say, damn he really can coach and motivate, he has done an admirable job considering all the injuries.

I sure hope that can change by next year and see a healthy roster all the way thru a campaign.

So get well, next man up for UNC***.
buck up, powder blue, look at Kentucky for how well you can do when you have players get injured...

I hate it for the kid. But, I don't hate it for the Tarholes. They are still paying for Dean Smith's 4 corner offense as far as I'm concerned.

Gotta think in today's state of basketball with load management and kids sitting for the NBA... that this would mean hes done for the year.
To borrow a quote from Johnny Utah in the movie Point Break after Bodi went out to ride a big wave at Bell's Beach during the 50 year storm when a policeman said we will get him when he comes back. "He's not coming back."
