Is it me or does it seem like it's coming up more and more - not just the US athletes and ICE stuff. See below, a Ukranian guy chose not to compete rather than not get to wear a helmet he wanted to wear.


I'm with the Olympic committee on this one. Just wear your colors and flag when you compete and then say/wear what you want at press conferences or other times.

Seem pretty simple and straight forward.

Olympic Sports - a privilege to the very few. Not a right! Keep politics out, if you are upset with your country’s doings then don’t participate. If your country’s homeland is being attacked probably not the best to be participating anyway.

I don't know anything about this particular story beyond headlines, but generally applaud folks when they stand on personal beliefs even in the face of meaningful downsides.

I'm also good with the Olympics uniform rules/enforcement.

It's a right for those who earn a spot - it's a privilege for those who get let in as alternates after the winners stood on principle - they should be allowed.

No. I’m sure I can’t find playing sports in the Olympics as a right in any constitution to ever exist.
