Ulis was great. One of my favorite players in Cal era, him and Murray were a lethal duo.
Should’ve been more so. The South Carolina game when Cal was kicked out is Exhibit A. Also should’ve had Dakari Johnson come back. Good lord just looking back so much squandered talent under Cal, like seriously mind blowing.
I believe it. Cal wasn't doing his job for several years here.

There's nothing he could’ve done about Dakari leaving. Regardless, I think it was more of a financial situation for Dakari.
Ulis should've been in the game to get the ball to KAT down the stretch against Wisconsin in 2015.
Stein should hire him to teach the guys how to celebrate properly and spike the ball after a TD.

If I'd coached that 2016 game against Indiana in the NCAA tournament, I'd be looking to blame somebody -- anybody -- as well. I think more accurate would be that "nobody" coached Kentucky in that game. Why hang it on Ulis, who I really respected as a canny player. Cal looked like he was rehearsing for St. Peter's and Oakland in that game.
I know DJ was just "ok", but you add him to that team and it would have been a whole lot better.
NIL could have changed a lot. I think possibly:
Liggins returns in 2012
Lamb & maybe Teague returns in 2013
Dakari J definitely returns in 2016
Ulis may return in 2017, possibly even 2018

I think Liggins hits the portal in 2011. He wasn’t going to play over MKG. Also, him and Cal weren't exactly sending each other Christmas cards.

Probably. However, with NIL, we very well may not have even signed those guys.
Umm wut?! Ulis really wanted to play with Fox and Monk and let it be known. Liggins most likely returns IMO. He would’ve played a ton for that team. We were very thin. Extremely thin.
I’ll always wish they’d had someone on that squad that could play above the rim. Ulis needed someone to throw lobs too. Bam was great but we needed somebody bouncier to go along with him. Add WCS to that squad and they win it all.
Amazing we gave someone $100 million to push all our best players out the door, while also refraining from doing any actual coaching.
Bam didn't get there until the following year. However, if Marcus Lee wouldn't have transferred, I don't think even John Higgins prevents UK from winning the 2017 championship. He was that bouncy guy needed.
And manage egos . Marquis Teague has said this a few times on the backcourt connection podcast with Doron Lamb. He said Cal was a great motivator but wasn’t much Xs and Os.
Cal never coached the entire time he was here. He was a fraud and a clown.
It’s a stone cold lock that Cal has watched more Little House on the Prairie than game film in his lifetime.
Now days Dakari would have been paid good in college. Didn’t work out in the NBA but can you imagine a junior and senior Dakari Johnson. He’s kind of forgotten in some ways. I always loved him. Really wish he would have stayed.

Quite a bit after the 2016 season. Always talked about the three of Fox, Monk and Ulis could play a 3 guard lineup and coexist. Talked about how good of a backcourt that would make, those three.

You are correct. He needed Bam too! That team was worse than I remember. Take away Ulis and Murray and there ain't much there.
I’ve always thought that Ulis and Booker should have been on the court at the end of the Wisconsin game as well
