Yeah, but do you know who played at and was a GA at Drake?Like what I’m seeing with these hires. Experience and a tradition of winning at each of their stops.
Adam Cox, Drake’s defensive coordinator, will be the safeties coach.![]()

Mo Toure had posted on X that Rutgers was considering the Fairleigh Dickinson DC as LB Coach. He is the former HC of Irvington HS.Adam Cox, Drake’s defensive coordinator, will be the safeties coach.
As long as they don’t come with his pretentiousness we’ll be fine.Yeah, but do you know who played at and was a GA at Drake?

As soon as I saw Drake, I knew this was coming. I will still keep an open mind.Yeah, but do you know who played at and was a GA at Drake?

A lot of solid football coaches in Minnesota and Iowa.As long as they don’t come with his pretentiousness we’ll be fine.
I somehow etched Drake and his hometown etched in my memory. ADS maybe. As soon as I saw Drake, I knew this was coming. I will still keep an open mind.
no, no, no..that was the Drake Company where Ash told them to get rid of the Yodels and Devil Dogs.Yeah, but do you know who played at and was a GA at Drake?

Sounds like a great hire, resume might be from lower ranks but a real sucess storyLooks like they overlapped at Grand View. Woodley had a solid 1st year at Drake too. Seems like another good get to poach another sitting FCS HC, this time not even for the DC job (though wouldn't shock me f he got a co-DC type title).
Would still like to see some more P4 (or at least FBS) experience on the defensive staff, but as far as apparent Xs & Os ability, hard to complain with these two.
Did we let any assistants go or are we now at 242 staff members?
If I’m not mistaken, the screenshots Mo posted mentioning him as a candidate came from this very site. We shall see but I don’t mind the idea of some more local flavor with the position coaches. Even in the NIL era recruiting is still a thing.Mo Toure had posted on X that Rutgers was considering the Fairleigh Dickinson DC as LB Coach. He is the former HC of Irvington HS.
I would hire the best X and O's guys I could find. High school recruiting comes down to one thing and one thing only $$$$. Any kid or coach that tweets or tells you different, they're full of sh*t.If I’m not mistaken, the screenshots Mo posted mentioning him as a candidate came from this very site. We shall see but I don’t mind the idea of some more local flavor with the position coaches. Even in the NIL era recruiting is still a thing.
Powerhouse schools (sarcasm)!! Didn’t even know drake had football. Chris ash hires imo.Like what I’m seeing with these hires. Experience and a tradition of winning at each of their stops.
Admits that he didn't even knew that Drake had football but knows enough to have an opinion about their coaches. I guess we should have tried to lure away some assistant from a top notch program like Notre Dame. How about Andy Buh??? Should we have pursued him instead?? He's coached at some of the top programs in the nation.Powerhouse schools (sarcasm)!! Didn’t even know drake had football. Chris ash hires imo.
I believe that prior to yesterday we had a grand total of two defensive position coaches.Did we let any assistants go or are we now at 242 staff members?
This is the guy we want to get.Haven’t listened to the latest pod yet so it’s possible there’s a deep dive on this already, but another advantage to poaching multiple HCs is opening multiple portal windows at their old schools. Sure, not ideal to overly rely on FCS programs for portal additions, but Drake and
South Dakota both made the playoffs. They’re legit and i’m sure both teams have multiple guys who could help us.

Yes, but it’s “performance” over “potential”.Looks like the Cignetti "competence" over "potential" (a P4 position coach) is taking hold, at least at RU.
Definitely should be on the radar. IMO we should also be going for anyone with remaining eligibility who was high up on either team's list of sacks/TFLs. Just looked at our team stats for 2025: 47 TFLs and 11 sacks. Our opponents had 69 and 38, respectively. We've gotta blow up more plays behind the line and especially get after the QB, and I'm not confident yet that we have the personnel to do it.This is the guy we want to get.

Your opinion is not an intelligent one.Powerhouse schools (sarcasm)!! Didn’t even know drake had football. Chris ash hires imo.
Probably won’t happen but Coach Smoke would be a great hire that could help with Jersey recruiting.Mo Toure had posted on X that Rutgers was considering the Fairleigh Dickinson DC as LB Coach. He is the former HC of Irvington HS. He can coach and he can recruit.
