A couple have moved from outside of Charlotte, and those would be "bona fide" moves. There is no way to stop that. The crazy thing is in 8A they probably do not need transfers to win.
At this point.. it is what it is. There won’t be anything done about it. They’ll easily cruise to another undefeated state title, but they need to be playing the bufords, Graysons, and Dutch forks of the world in non conference. I don’t want to see them beat up on Mooresville and idependence again this season.
I don’t think they have the confidence to play those guys, I doubt the non conference will be tough at all.
Parents are making bonafide moves for the vast majority of these transfers now.
The other part of this, to make a long story short, no one is going to make the effort to stop any of this movement.

Hough has at least played and beat Dutch Fork, South Pointe in recent years and was pretty much blowing away Northwestern before Northwestern scored like the final 21 points to win by 1 point in a high scoring affair like 42 to 41. So they have at least taken on tough SC teams.
Hough needs Grimsley, Buford, RH Northwestern or RH South Pointe , and Dutch Fork on their non conference schedule
They wouldn’t beat Grimsley either. Matter of fact they have never beat Grimsley

I think a lot of people would have been perfectly fine with 6 classifications. The problem is that NCHSAA had to deal with a state law that only allows 64 teams or less per classification. Only way to divide up almost 450 schools was 8 classifications to give each classification wiggle room once new schools were formed or entered in to the NCHSAA. Some of these newer schools will roll in to 8A and bump schools into other classifications. Those other classifications will grow up to 60-64. If the law that states each classification has to have 64 or less schools gets removed, then I think we could get the 6 classes like most wanted....just my 2 cents
Wait wait wait. The same WC that beat Monroe, Mallard Creek, Indy, Butler, Chambers, and Myers Park? That had 8 defensive shutouts? Was 3 yards away from going up 14-0 on Southpointe on the road? All three losses were to current state champs.

Seen Hough will have RH Northwestern on Aug 21 at District 3 Stadium. From post above looks like they will have Providence Day. There’s 2 power teams they will be playing.
100%. This is absolutely ridiculous. How has the CMS county AD done absolutely nothing????
What can anyone do if they made a legitimate move? All have moved from what I've seen. Another site they was talking about this and someone in the know explained how all the new homes and apartments built in that area are the same prices as in Charlotte.
If they put out a report with No finding of any wrong doing n all of these move are Legitimate and all then We all owe Hough HS a apologies but However they did get in trouble 1 time for the same offense so this is not something new at Hough imo so
And also County ADs from each prospective - if they so desire they could be petty and try block em and try get these kids 365. Iredell Co is enforcing 365 a lot more now these day - BIG Example of that is Oliver Stamey at Hough - He was at North Iredell but he wanted to go back to his "home" school in Statesville but ISS wouldnt allow it so he went to Hough!
Real moves or not, What Hough is doing is not good for High School Football. I think we have truly loss the meaning of what high school football is supposed to be and what it once was. Coaches are too caught up in winning at all cost and the players are to caught up in popcorn success. Of course this doesn't just happen at Hough and I get it, you have to keep up with the times however it's truly sad to see how and where HS athletics has trended towards

HS portal is active there are other schools as well trying get kids to come so...... I have heard a few other moves from outside of CLT but will see if those happens.

This is absolutely horrible for the game. These kids and new breed of coaches are just destroying by the day. 5 years from now it won’t even be worth having playoffs. Take the top 2 teams and play a game, no need for a bunch of playoff games.
Everything is cyclical, in 4-5 years it will probably start trending back to more restricted player movement. Not saying Hough is doing anything wrong and not playing by the rules, but if it takes going this far for the appropriate people to enact change so be it. Or I could also be dead wrong and this movement just continues to grow with no end in sight
Oh its going to get worse and worse as there will be no parity in talent and on the field. Don't just single out Hough though. South Pointe Rock Hill, Grimsley, Weddington, and even Richmond County have gotten in on the transfer mix. Players are crossing counties at this point. Social media/NIL have made players more selfish in their approach to recruitment. I'd like to get a list of guys who transfer and it doesnt work out better. That list is LARGE but no one talks about it. Most of these guys changing schools already had college offers.
Just told someone the downfall of the Hough transfer pipeline is gonna be their conference play/schedule. Unless they beating people 75-0 weekly the players wont have the opportunity to play beyond the half. West Meck, Garinger, South, Hopewell, offer them no resistance. Then you have MP, with minimal resistance. Then you get 8A playoffs were they have taken the best players from their top comp. They absolutely whipped WC, and Millbrook who were top 5 NC and nationally ranked teams. So Hough is gonna bring back a SR. QB and get much better on defense. Then the portal has taken care of the Oline issues. Where are all these kids gonna play?
Someone said it earlier , in Charlotte you kind of have the flavor of the month thing going on. It was West Charlotte then Indy, then Butler, then Mallard Creek then Vance/Chambers now its Hough's turn and it would appear they are loaded. My question is who is next in Charlotte

This is much different than those previous runs. Hough has gotten guys from across the state prior to the current coaches. Those other schools still get some transfers now. Hough is bringing in elite national level talent and cross state transfers.
Those schools you mentioned got some transfers but the base of the team was neighborhood or played at the feeder middle school. Mint Hill/Albemarle Rd/Northeast for Indy/Butler, Ranson/Piedmont for WC, and James Martin for Chambers, and Ridge Road/JMA for MC. Hough only feeder is Bailey. Bailey is has no athletes in comparison. In looking at Hough starters most never played at Bailey and came from other counties/districts.
Well I am a Charlotte outsider so I will yield to you knowing more than me about these teams and what/where these kids come from.
