What is going on over at Lexington? I heard that there top 2 candidates declined the offer. Are they restarting the process again. Seems like Lexington can’t get out of their own way to be great.

Now that's a story that's been ongoing for three decades... it says a lot when Gary Whitman and Joe Gaddis, two state championship caliber coaches could not stick it out due to multiple factors. A few years ago Eric Brown didn't win much but I know from first hand experience the administration was actively interfering with the process, not to mention infighting amongst the coaching staff.

Lexingtons problems stem from the top and trickle down, so this unfortunately is not very surprising...

This is terrible if true. I know they had good candidates. Going to set the program back 3-5 years . Do they know what they're doing ,the board ,administration, AD?

Rumor has it the former coach is staying at the school in PE and the only job they have open currently is EC. But who knows how accurate that is.

Wow so you're saying in other words they don't have a position for a HC only in EC but the current coach is staying there and not leaving his PE position? Ok so if there is a new hire do they not have positions for other coaches that they might hire? This sounds like a mess . Well that alone will make it tough for a good coach to come.

Not having a PE position for your football coach is going to be a major disadvantage. I heard that when they offered the first candidate they told him he could teach PE at the middle school. Why not move the old coach to the middle school?

Although i dont very much like lexington for obvious rival reasons lol, i have a lot of respect for TJ and feel he will do great. He seems to really be a respected community member and rightfully so. I know a lot of his family and they are great people so I see where it comes from. I've also said a lot over the years that i believe lexington has some really good stuff going on over there from the outside looking in with the way the community seems to be coming together to support and them having so many alumni involved in their programs. I am curious to what this means for basketball though?
