It’s easy to argue it benefits Gill more often than it benefits NU, but he’s played a total of like six minutes all year which is a pointless waste of potential value for everybody involved
I can't watch this anymore. These refs are ruining this game and any chance NU has of an upset. It's so blatant .
NU isn’t a program that can afford to make wasteful mistakes on things like this. Unless he suddenly starts playing a lot and playing well it’s a massively wasteful choice.
Some of the calls are egregiously bad, even for NU.
Still: when your team consistently plays this poorly then you cannot expect any help from the refs.
The B1G wants Iowa and as many B1G teams in the tournament as they can get.
Expect no mercy.
You are right, I’d play him a helleva lot more. Nothing to lose at this point, unless you think it damages him mentally.
But if you go to the Iowa board they’re saying all the calls are going against them.

Too many times Martinelli has come up short only to have Iowa score right after. Wildcats haven’t been able to break the 6 point margin.
He’s having one of his worst games. It may be exhaustion, hopefully not due to some injury.

Nice effort by the Cats on the road. Competitive but Stirtz with 36 was a killer. Cats offense failed on too many short attempts.
The shot chart is a disaster. Look at Iowa’s chart (all shots at the rim and 3s) vs ours (littered with all sorts of mid range junk).
