First off I graduated from Avery and have two sons that attend Avery. This is absolutely nothing against coach Farmer. Coach Farmer is a great guy and I think the world of him. Athletics in general at Avery suffers because of politics. Certain people with pull have the say over all athletics at Avery. I know for a fact that when Avery hires a new head coach. The new head coach can not bring his own coaching staff with him, because his coaching staff has already been decided. Now who gets the keys to the house but then is told who you can have over and who you can't? Nobody has brought up Paul Johnson... College football Hall of Famer, Avery High School alumni got his first coaching job at Avery High School. I've heard he has wanted to help the program out, but that fell on deaf ears. I would say something needs to change but "A Lot" needs to change. Problem is politics don't like change.
