So you’re asking the athletes to just go out and lie? Trump is really the only one that is somehow able to lie and fail upward, so this would likely not work out well for the athletes
Trump has drained the office of all dignity and has made us a laughingstock so I disagree that we are currently the greatest. I got questioned myself when I was in Europe last May and I couldn't distance myself fast enough from that POS so I understand why the athletes would want the world to know that they aren't supportive of this newly pariah nation.

See that’s the difference between an anti-American Trump supporting traitor such as yourself and a patriot such as myself. What makes being an American and America so great is the freedom to speak your mind. Other countries’ athletes have to tote the government line for fear of retribution. Our athletes not only don’t have to but they should be encouraged to speak freely. If speaking freely and honestly results in criticism of the nation, then it falls upon the legislative bodies to improve the facets that are being criticized.
At the end of the day the athletes would not be in this position if the insurrectionist MAGA party didn’t install militarized forces into opposing party states to terrorize the American public. We are no longer respected on the world stage, and it all falls on the shoulders of Trump and his anti-American policy and supporters
