He’s playing at a level needed to win for sure. It probably depends how high we finish. If we challenge for the SEC late into the season he will get it probably.
His SEC stats are great but, overall, he's #13 in the SEC in scoring average. I'd say he has little chance of POY. It will probably be either Philon or Acuff, who are both averaging over 20 ppg. Hough has to be a contender as well since he's probably the best player in the league.
SEC player of the year only counts SEC games. Has nothing to do with out of conference games. He’s right there and has a great shot.
When you filter down to just SEC play, Oweh's stats look a lot different.

Then Ament had one hell of a game this week, because out of ppg, apg, rpg and turnovers, Oweh led in 3 of 4.
That is quite correct in theory. The reality is some of the voters don't know nearly as much about it as the average poster on this board. I hope Otega gets the recognition he deserves but I think it would be hard to find somebody that's not a UK fan that would vote him SEC POY, at least right now.
