Northwestern's new Ryan Field won't open until Oct. 2 against Penn State
Northwestern’s promised “premium for everyone” fan experience at the new Ryan Field, the $862 million stadium project under construction since mid-2024, will have to wait until October, the Sun-Times has learned.
The stadium will not be ready for the season opener against South Dakota State on Sept. 5 or for the next home game, against Colorado on Sept. 19. Both games will be played at the temporary lakefront stadium used for football the last two seasons, athletic director Mark Jackson confirmed.

According to Sun Times
Pretty cool this date will mark the exact 100 year anniversary of the first game that was played at Dyche Stadium.

It's basically the inverse Wrigley-ing of the schedule. Instead of two games at the end of the year that aren't at our actual "home" stadium, it's two at the start that we're going to pretend aren't a disruption because technically "home" as well, at the Bunny Hatch.

Cool about the 100-year anny and all, and Braun & Co. won't complain, but I bet they'll be happy in 2027 when they get to actually play their full home slate at home for the first time in a full recruiting class's matriculation...

I'll say this much in the positive column though, I am amused at reducing Coach Prime to appearing at the very not prime location that is a 15K temporary stadium better suited for lacrosse.

Not gonna lie, I definitely, uh..."puckered up" when I saw we will open the stadium with Penn State. Let's hope for another glorious victory over the newly rebranded Iowa State East.
That would put another PSU coach on the hot seat. Do you want to see Campbell "canned"?

I'm ok with 2 more at the Lakefront

I can live with this, TBH. Colorado would be better, but this is fine. I gotta decide which of the first two games I'm attending. They're still working through season ticket sales, right?

Fun fact, my two season ticket holder friends:

1. Penn State fan
2. Iowa State fan

They come to NU games to humor me. It's been in an interesting past two-ish months.

I heard that there are some very very steep pitched seats in the upper deck that they are going to put the visiting team fans at. Tell your buddies.
Easier to roll down hill. Shades of the original upper deck at new Comiskey or whatever it is called now

I finally heard from my Rep. 4 tickets equivalent to my old tickets required a donation of $225 K plus the cost of the 4 tickets-I can't remember their cost but considering 3 of the games will be against directional schools , they were really expensive.
I attended a BB Final Four at Rupp Arena that had a very steep upper deck. Outside shots had the optical illusion of "curving"that was very distracting. I hope the second deck in the NRF will not have the same effect.

That’s just incorrect. The downstroke isn’t that big even for super premium seats.

That is over $55K per ticket just for the donation.

Wouldn't be the first time that someone didn't realize that the expression "$225 k" is $225,000.

THAT IS NOT CORRECT!!!! Jesus.
I DID NOT COME UP WITH THE FIGURE. Doc Rugby has never come across as dumb and I have no idea what his former tickets were, Plus they have not gotten back to me with any prices locations or any other info so I have nothing to base a challenge to his figures. And as of yet, he has posted no modification

On premium seating, I had heard two prices, One at $25k donation per seat plus about $4K per year and one at $5k donation per seat and about $5k per ticket per year, But have heard nothing about any other tickets. Now if what they were talking about was the second tier and the pricing that we had heard was a little off, I suppose it could be $22.5K for four seats. But we will have to wait to see if he reposts with a correction

And I’m telling you that I do have lots of prices that I’ve gotten back. None of them are >$50k downstroke per ticket. None of them.

So, are people saying -- if I beg a STH here to let me buy-in and join them for one game (maybe Rutg), I guess I should be willing to pay around ~$10k to help cover everything:) OR would a sub to the special board do it?😁 .... a couple of beers?

Yes... doc has a typo with 1-2 extra digits, depending on how fancy he wants to be!

Though, I'm sure Northwestern would be delighted to accept his $225k!
