Those 80s Niners teams were a true dynasty. So much fun to watch. All time greats with Montana and Rice. Lott, etcAwesome, and long overdue
Randy Cross, John Taylor, Dwight Clark, Brent Jones. - crazy how awesome they were. Those 80s Niners teams were a true dynasty. So much fun to watch. All time greats with Montana and Rice. Lott, etc
They loved Huskers. Craig, Rathman, Jamie Williams. Even Doug Dubose played for a minute.Randy Cross, John Taylor, Dwight Clark - crazy how awesome they were.
He was great! Unfortunately he did have some issues with fumbling early in his time here. But he was a very effective runner for us. He was eventually a bit eclipsed by Rozier in his last year with us. I think Osborne even experimented a bit with having Rozier at I back and Craig at fullback. How good was he at NU? I am not really old enough to remember him but was he like a freak on field or did his NFL career end up being a lot more amazing than his time at NU?

High knees into the end zone against the Dolphins in the SB.Husker career was good, but NFL was better and showcased his pass catching abilities. Another RB by the name of Rozier took some carries away from Craig at NU.
Yeah the niners definitely had a Husker pipeline. Mainly why they were on local TV every weekendThey loved Huskers. Craig, Rathman, Jamie Williams. Even Doug Dubose played for a minute.
The Fridge. He wrecked us that day.craig had a chance to score on a long run against clemson but slipped and fell coulda won the game. believe it was in 81 for the national championship. also couldnt believe remington being stood up by their freshman noseguard.
Turner Gill did not play against Clemson (injury). Had he played we would have won. In 82 we should have won it all. Refs robbed us at PSU. In 83 we would have beaten Miami on a neutral field. Could have won 3 straight nattys. But that is football…One of my all-time favorites. Hard to believe we had Craig, Rathman, and Rozier on the same team.
Still breaks my heart that we could have and should have won three titles in a row from 81 - 83. Should have won at least two in those years.
Anyway… I am very happy for Craig. He and Turner Gill were my two faves from this era.
Craig at fullback was more than an experiment. It put our two most explosive runners on the field at the same time. In addition Craig was a willing and effective blocker. Craig’s team first attitude and versatility made him that much more attractive to the NFL. He was one of those guys Pelini would have just called “a good football player”. Craig could have played on either side of the ball.He was great! Unfortunately he did have some issues with fumbling early in his time here. But he was a very effective runner for us. From what I understand mark mauer had a bad rotator cuff and he couldn’t throw the ball more than 15 yards that’s another reason we lost to Clemson. And by the way several years later Clemson was put on probation for violations during there championship seasonTurner Gill did not play against Clemson (injury). Had he played we would have won. Was this the injury that Gill incurred in a game against Missouri? Cheap shot when he was the holder on an extra point or FG attempt if memory serves.Turner Gill did not play against Clemson (injury). Had he played we would have won. In 82 we should have won it all. If the game was only played on offense we might have lol.One of my all-time favorites. Hard to believe we had Craig, Rathman, and Rozier on the same team.

You are thinking of Jarvis Redwine, who was a blocker on the PAT team and took a cheap shot. Gill also got taken out of a game against Missouri on a cheap shot, but it was a late hit after he threw a pass. Didn't even draw a roughing the passer flag. Was this the injury that Gill incurred in a game against Missouri? Cheap shot when he was the holder on an extra point or FG attempt if memory serves.
And a very young Jimmy Johnson with the same hair back in the day.Rozier tossing the ball to the Cowboy mascot after his TD, haha!
