OT - Lincoln Southeast High students have walked out of class in protest of ICE today

In the Seattle public school system these types of protests are usually instigated by the teacher's union and students who choose not to participate are punished.
Parents need to sue the school for using them to make a political statement against the wishes of the parents.
Every kid that joins in should get zeros for the day.

Uh oh, the snowflakes are upset that people are using legal means to protest again! Do we need to shoot a few kids outside schools to scare them back into submission? This is literally what Americans who disagree with the direction of the nation should do.

Their greater danger is that grown men will get out of their truck to physically beat them like in Buda, Texas yesterday. 45yr old man got out of his truck and attacked a girl and ended up with his *** beat.
I know when I want to talk to somebody, or listen to somebody about politics, and how the world should operate, I always hit up sixteen year olds because they're so knowledgable and experienced in how the real world works.

Its not so much the students, its the teachers unions, which are almost 100% democrat. They're organizing these events and using the students as human shields and billboards for their agenda. Students are probably glad to get out of class.

I think they should talk more about what they think outside of this message board. Let those protesting know that they think their concerns are small things, and they need to get on board with the program. They should do this as much as possible. Where are the counter-protesters at these things? Surely there are some who feel these people are so misguided that they need to be set straight. Well, there was that guy in the red hatchback with a giant Trump flag who hit a kid. But he needs help.
Everyone has a right to assemble. Not sure how teachers get to leave their tax-payer funded jobs to do this, and take kids to dangerous parts of cities and towns. But to each their own. High school kids? Meh… You can’t really reasonably excuse entire middle schools, or younger kids being pressured into doing things they don’t want to do. That’s kind of a big deal, and akin to kidnapping imo

Plus, this weird idea that teachers can brainwash kids is at best, insane. Do you know how bad of a parent you would have to be to have raised a kid that is brainwashed by someone that they see for about 40 minutes a day?
If that is the case and if that is the hill you want to die on then you also need to accept that fact that you (if you are a parent and this is really your worry) are a bad parent who is doing a bad job rasing your kid.

So I don't think you really think that teachers can brainwash kids. Because if your kid doesn't listen to all your orders at home, they are not listening to their teachers at school.
I think what you might be doing is looking for a fall guy because you don't (not YOU but parents) do not want to accept responsibility for the things your kids do that you do not agree with.
The made-up crisis isn't what has been happening at the border, which has been chaotic for several years. Did you ever care to ask yourself why so many people are showing up at the border as essentially humanitarian refugees. A lot of women and children in those throngs of people. Maybe instead of bombing Southern countries and making corrupt deals with corrupt leaders, maybe the US should focus on policies that bring stability to that part of the world. The made-up crisis is the crime wave perpetrated by immigrants that justifies thousands of armed federal agents in the streets of American cities. Violent crime in the US has been steadily dropping the US since the early 90s. So made-up crisis, absolutely.
