Spencer take down, turn, almost another turn. RBY injured
RBY came out swinging for eye pokes just to pull his ankle. Karma is nice
I'm kidding btw. I didn't see any intentional eye pokes but that was some nightly aggressive hand fighting
Yeah… got stopped immediately by the ref, so he thought it was unnecessary.
Sure would like to see DeSanto get another shot at RBY. Especially with him having to use both arms.

Spencer looked bored his first 2 matches. Looked like defense first to get into a groove. He wanted RBY and was bummed it ended early.
I still love watching DeSanto! He just goes balls to wall nonstop, so damn f*n.

He's a (former) Russian. Been around a long time. European champ back in the day, but never got the nod at worlds for Russia (stuck behind Uguev).
As much as I dislike TnT as the head coach. It’s undeniable they are good freestyle coaches (specifically Terry).
Good job to Spencer, DeSanto, and the HWC team.
Pretty dominant win by DeSanto over a tough guy and my guess is Lee would have finished it strong as well.
Thought Spencer looked good. Very efficient. Really good discipline with his head and thumb blocks. Very tough to get to. And when he goes, its explosive and clean. Pretty much what he looked like all last year. Worlds has been a major outlier for him.
Finally got time to watch the Desanto 11-11 fiasco. IRI def had criteria. Don't understand why scorers didn't have it right to start with.
Screwing up criteria was bad, but IMO, the scoring of the match itself was probably worse.
The 1st exposure call for IRI was pretty questionable. Same for the spladle call going 2-1 for IRI. Though I get their line of thinking as IRI initiated the leg attack and they like to reward the attacker when possible.
I think the most egregious was probably the 4pt for IRI from par terre. That wasn't feet to back. It was feet to butt to a quick exposure. Should have only been 2 IRI. Even the IRI coach in the back was asking for 2....
Odd that they didn't challenge either of the spladle or the 4pt.
Sure glad it didn't cost him the gold.
I saw no expression of pain on his face at any time. He also got up with his broken foot first. Not saying anything, maybe he's just a tough sob. Lol

Mark is there in Croatia, and you did see correctly today.
He’s a board member of the Iowa Women’s Wrestling Club (IWWC) and is there as the personal coach for Macey Kilty - who competes this Friday.
You’re right though that’s it’s pretty cool to have someone with his credentials (and Iowa ties) be able to ‘pinch hit’ in a situation like this.

Spencers knee comes down on his foot. RBY is hurt
It's just weird that when RBY goes to get up he puts all of his weight on the injured foot, and actually pushes down on his right knee with his hand putting even more weight/pressure on the foot.
He was obviously trying to see if he could still go. These guys are built different.
Guessing Spencer has something to do with it as well.
Buchanan on Mat A up 6-1 at break.. TD to a lace 10-1. Td 12-1 winner
Buchanan hangs on to defeat Vicky of India 14-7. He was up 12-3 at the break and faded pretty hard. Bruised lung I believe.
Into finals with a 40 sec fall. Faces Yazdani in finals.
Vicky placed 7th at Worlds last year, BTW.
