Poulin accumulated 1:30 of riding time in second but gave up two points for stalling plus an escape. 3-0 for Spratley.
Jax has this poor kid wrapped up like a pretzel. 5-0 a minute in.
16-0 tech fall in 3:30 minutes. Would’ve pinned him if it could’ve kept going
Stalling on Vega. Vega takedown with 10 to go to win it 4-2. Echemendia was in on a lot of shots but Vega’s ability to scramble is next level. Really cool moment of sportsmanship between the two.
Spratley wins 3 to 1 with 2 stalling points and escape and Poulin had a point on riding time. Troy won and that was the key. Jax killed his opponent with 2 takedowns and lots of back points for a tech in the 2nd period. Sergio gets a big win in a 1 to 1 match where Iowa St had his leg and Sergio was in trouble but got an ankle to take the advantage and after some seconds got control and the winning takedown. Very impressive and also fought off a couple of takedowns where Anchemendia had the leg. Sergio may be the top freshman, earlier in the year I thought he was not in the Big 3. However now it is a big 4 freshmen.
Swiderski wins 4 to 2 with a nice single leg and then elevates it and gets Frost down for the takedown. Frost was rated 6th and so big win.
Robideau has been firing a ton of shots. Finally got the takedown with 20 seconds.
Landon gets another big win with a takedown with 20 seconds left to win 4 to1. He snatched a leg and shelved it and then powered his way to control and gets 3. He had several other of these chances for a takedown but couldn't get them but did get it at the end. He beat an All American who is ranked 8 and Robideau was rated 6.

Our 1st 5 are really good with Swiderski progressing. Now our back 5 have a chance to show progression.
Dee showing some aggression. Nearly had the pin. Up 7-1.
Well Dee wrestled a real good match winning a major. A real nice change of direction takedown in the 2nd period. Much more aggressive in the 2nd period.
I don’t think anyone really knows. He’s still on the team but hasn’t wrestled at all this year for whatever reason.
Facundo was close to takedowns several times but got 1 in a tie 1 to 1 match. He was in the legs and sucked up his opponent, picked him up and dumped him down for the takedown and the win.
Gaitan stalled the whole match. It seems like Iowa State didn’t come to wrestle today.
Cody wrestled a hell of a match. absolutely emptied the tank. Elam has great size for 197.
Sucks he didn’t get the win but Cody is that dude.
I’m not sure what match this ref is watching. Merrill was robbed of that victory over the 50th year Senior Elam.
Not sure what they were watching. I thought there were quite a few exciting matches where the counters were just really good.
