I take back what I said about your ability to offer intellectual maturity. Both low energy losers
I’m not worried about them, just you.Keep simping for them… they aren’t going to love you

You know, until recently you would at least attempt to occasionally contribute posts of value around here… but I guess you’ve opted instead for this LOW EFFORT approach. Take a page out of your past book and maybe reid and think before you post.Keep simping for them… they aren’t going to love you
If you were only “not fired up”…Sorry I’m not fired up about this miserable team. My bad!
He’s just going to get capped again for doing exactly what he got capped for last time. When he posts under Gerak = Rimmington you’ll know it.Love his posts. Will hopefully be the catalyst for a premium basketball board. Board would be at no additional cost…we’d have a premium football and a free football board with the same setup for hoops. Four boards plus the other sports board…premium subscription allows access to the Rock and Pound the Rock.
In a game we lost by 16! Someone had to score lol. They were absolutely meaningless numbers. This is actually extra funny given that Page and Reid played really well tonight.
He actually had a pretty decent game. A couple mistakes but overall a lot of plussesPage is keeping NU in this one.

I always describe it as he gets caught watching the game too muchHe’s a high level talent, and he flashed more of his passing and scoring package, both with finesse and power. The issue has been consistency in those areas and the lack of defensive reliability. He should also be a better rebounder than he’s been. That said, I did see a few possessions where he simply outworked and outmuscled his man on the glass, which is a really encouraging sign. That part has to become intentional for him. It isn’t second nature yet.
He also flashed a lot of his defensive potential last night. The problem is still the feel. When he’s in the right spots, he’s very effective, and he’s athletic enough to be an impact defender. Last night made it clear this isn’t an effort issue. It’s about processing and positioning on that end. Defensive feel and floor awareness are real skills that some people are just naturally better at than others. If he puts the work in, there’s a path for him to raise his defensive feel to at least a serviceable level by next season.
He really has not had that much game time, And he has been in three different systems in 3 years. He’s in his third season of college basketball… odds are he isn’t going to just figure it out at this point
Yes he is a 3rd year but reality is that he has not had that much game time and he has been in 3 different systems in three years, And our system is not exactly easy. It is not that he is not putting in the effort, At this point, he cannot just play. In stead of natural reactions he is still having to think too much and that makes things seem disjointed. He is also sort of forced to play out of his more normal position. He is more of a 3/4 and is forced to play the 5 because we really don't have anyone who really canI always describe it as he gets caught watching the game too much
Cappy, do you have a hypothesis as to why Reid and West are so effective together?+/- of lineups from Saturday:
Reid alone: 0 in 10:19
West alone: -22 in 16:29
Reid and West together: +8 in 13:12
Singleton: -28 in 31:24
Think it just comes down to better spacing on the court.Cappy, do you have a hypothesis as to why Reid and West are so effective together?
Maybe, maybe not. As it is, we have three seniors departing and only two recruiting coming in. Unfortunately Hodge likely won’t be available for most of the year so he doesn’t help. We most likely need more than one impact transfer. If we have a lot of resources to bring in 2+ very good players then we need to clear somebody out, though frankly there are names we could clear out more easily than Reid. If we have similar resources to last year, then we might as well keep them if we can. In general though we have much better options to run off than Reid or Page, and I don’t even think Reid is very good at all.We need everyone to come back next year. If that happens, we can replace NM’s scoring in the aggregate in house by simply redistributing the minutes.
I’m not convinced Windham is gone based on a single hearsay post. 95% of what goes into this team none of us ever gets to see. I hope he returns on a mission to be the emerging star he was at the end of ‘24-‘25.
If we do lose anyone and have to dip into the portal, we need a player who can hit 3s at a 40% clip and create their own offense off the dribble. We don't need a distributor and we don't need a backup center to play ten minutes a game.
Let's hope CCC spends his spring in Europe visiting a bunch of club teamsIf KJ and Reid transfer out, we are going to be quite thin at guard. I assume Clayton would come back, and West would be our primary lead guard. The next in line would be young Phoenix Gill.
We'll need to bring in a new lead guard next year anyway, our backcourt isn't remotely good enough even with Martinelli on the team. If we can afford him Reid is okay, I guess, as a bench rotation guy. If we can pool his resources in and get a star guard then it's different. All of these things are both roster spot and NIL resource considerations now.If KJ and Reid transfer out, we are going to be quite thin at guard. Is Blake Smith on scholarship?Maybe, maybe not. As it is, we have three seniors departing and only two recruiting coming in. The scholarship/roster spot distinction is no longer meaningful post-House. He consumed a roster spot, as does Hurlburt (okay, Hurlburt’s spot might be free because of the walkon roster spot exemption, but I’m not sure). Is Blake Smith on scholarship?
This has actually turned out to be a thoughtful, informative thread, despite the obnoxious origin.Think it just comes down to better spacing on the court.
3-pt shooting during conference play:
Reid 36.4%
West 40.0%
Martinelli 42.5%
Green 28.1%
Gelo 26.3%
Clayton 30.3%
Mullins 0-4
Singleton 9.5%
Page 21.4%
Kropp 2-3
If you have only 1 of Reid or West, it means you have Mart plus 1-2 of the wings and 1-2 of the bigs. Opponents only have to worry about the PG and Mart shooting from deep. Put Reid and West out there, now there's 3 threats to score from deep and opponents defensive scheme has to operate differently.
Once he departed....This has actually turned out to be a thoughtful, informative thread, despite the obnoxious origin.
Having pros on your roster is just lameLet's hope CCC spends his spring in Europe visiting a bunch of club teams
