How much of a hole do we dig ourselves if the first half tonight?

I'll give my prediction after I round up my random number generator.

I think if we can get a half assed called game, then we will hang in there today. I kind of like the matchups. We’re not going to stop Acuff, we just need to contain him some. We can’t afford to go 4-20 from 3 and expect to win. If we can go something like 9-22 or 10-24 then I think we have a great chance. Hopefully we don’t have Oglesby, Daily, and Vladimir like last year.

I’m guessing 15-20 in the first half, biggest deficit 30+ and lose by 20-25… Hope I’m wrong.

At least 15-18 points. When was the last game against a quad 1 opponent that we jumped out ourselves and got a big lead?

Just checked and line still at 7. Vegas isn’t stupid but this looks like the easy money play of the year.

I think anyone betting on this game either way is insane:

- Calipari always performs well in these grudge match types of games

- Calipari has shown a tendency to have major letdown games as a heavy favorite

- Pope floundered versus Calipari a year ago as a heavy favorite.

- Pope has performed well as the clear underdog against prime opponents.

If we won the game, I would not be shocked.
If we lost the game in an epic battle, I would not be shocked.
If we lost the game by ten plus in a barely competitive game, I would not be shocked.
If we got down early and it became a bloodbath, I would not be shocked.

If you’re betting on this, you have my respect for the confidence at least. Anything can happen in this game.

Officials will not be the reason we win or lose. I know every team fills like the officials are always against them. We need to let that lame excuse go. In reality, how many loses this year were because of the officials. The honest answer is ZERO. I know while watching I seem to react more when a missed call is not in our favor but to be honest, I kinda chckle when a missed call against us happens. In our beatdown against Vandy I thought we got a fair whistle. We just got our butts whipped. If every team in the SEC were to be asked, they probably would say they get a horrible whistle in Rupp. If most of our fans were asked they would think we get a bad whistle in every game we lose. Let's hope we play well and win tonight. Let's hope if we lose it is because we got beat by the other team's players, because blaming a loss on bad whistles is just a denial that we actually lost.

I'm having a hard time even thinking about watching. If we can't handle Vandy, there's no way we're going to handle Arkansas.

Their fans are going to be loud and love watching us get blown out. I think we are down by no less than 16 at the half - more likely 20+. It's going to be ugly.

If ARK plays tight, aggressive man defense, especially on our ball-handlers ... I think we'll really struggle to establish any kind of flow on offense.
I think Mo Dioubate may well be the key to us having any chance in this game. His physicality around the basket will help us, hopefully.
Moreno, Garrison, Jelavic and Dioubate all need to shot-fake the hell out of Brazile ... as he is a thirsty shot-blocker. Get him and Acuff in foul trouble.

I think it will be an onslaught for the first 10-12 mins with us getting down 20 give or take a point or two, then things will level out some and we end up losing by about 10.

Tonight the game stays fairly close, 6 points in either direction, and the Cats and the sports gambling industry win by ~4 points or so. If you know, you know 👍🏼

Before the Vandy game, I was thinking we might lose both games by 20+ but now I’m trending towards thinking we keep it fairly close towards the end. I could see us losing by around 6-8, but I think we still lose. This completely depends on if we actually have a backbone and don’t fold like a cheap tent like we did in Nashville. Call it a feeling.

I’m being bold and saying we never trail by more than 7 tonight. Wishful thinking I know.
