You guys were right about Bad Bunny, the NFL did choose him because of his politics

Good luck with your global reach NFL.....I could care less about your product anymore, and that's sad b/c at one time, I lived for NFL football.
Who’s playing in the Super Bowl?
You know the answer. They’ve got you.
Baseline knowledge for more international people (more points of distribution) is their current goal.

Maybe if they got Cinderella or Kix to appear with them. That should pump up the young crowd.*
They obviously missed the Cinderella/Bon Jovi show at the hump in '87!
I grew up in the late Classic Rock/ early Hair Metal era and considered myself pretty well versed. Saw a lot of the Hair Metal bands in concert , hundreds of cassettes and CD’s but I’d never heard of Kix until I got free Sirius Xm with a new vehicle purchase about ten years ago. Don’t know how I missed them.

It's in San Francisco and there's not many, if any better music city in the country. Just think of all the bands that have come from that area. Journey, The Doobie Brothers, CCR, Jefferson Starship, Counting Crows, Green Day, Huey Lewis and the News, Metallica, Steve Miller Band, Santana. Sly and the Family Stone........Of course, there's only a couple of original members left but don't forget the Grateful Dead........They could've had an all star cast celebring the bay area's music history and that is a nice group to pick from..........

They weren't part of the "Jersey Boys" grouping and were from Baltimore, IIRC, and their window of notoriety was shorter than most.

They really could have locked down that middle age / elderly white guy demographic they have been unable to attract this far.

i would freaking love that halftime show, but this ain’t for us. Hate the choice all you want, from a business standpoint it makes complete sense.

Greenday is literally performing with him dude. Also just about everybody else you named is ancient or hasn't performed in years. Every time the elderly complain about this dude they ask why cant they just get X. And its always some from the 70s or maybe 80s. Yall act like the 65+ demographic is the only one out there or spends money.

Yes, I know Green Day is performing with the but that's one band out all the famous bands from that area. You don't keep up with music I can see. Journey, still touring. Doobie Bros, still touring, Huey Lewis putting out new music, Metallica still touring, Steve Miller was touring last year so that dog won't hunt.

What's Flock of Seagulls up to? Maybe Winger? Good thing we have a whole year to coordinate this, I bet their schedule is packed.

Yeah because the NFL wants another The Who performance by boring people in their 70s and 80s. The only one remotely entertaining on that list would be Metallica and Green Day. Have you not listened to a new band since 2000? I also imagine you're going to be big mad about Green Days message during their performance.

The Super Bowl is the biggest event on TV every year. The point is to get as high of ratings as possible. Ratings = Money

Respectfully, old dad rock bands from 40/50 years ago on farewell tours aren't attracting eyes that wouldn't already be on the TV.

Bad Bunny is the biggest artist in the world and attracts a demographic that would not be watching the game otherwise. Take an extended bathroom break if seeing a hispanic dude perform in Spanish for 20 minutes affects you that much. You aren't the target audience, and that's okay.

Can we get Blues Traveler? Every time one of their songs comes on, I tell my kids how much fun I had at their concert at the Hump. Every time. If I don’t get an eye roll, I repeat the story.
If Goodell is looking for more tips, y’all give him my number.

Blues Traveler is for my money the world's foremost 2 Hit Wonder. In second place behind them is .38 Special

From a business standpoint it's an absolute horrible decision. I'm guessing about 50% will not watch. That's not a smart business move anyway you slice it.

I’m willing to bet that this will be one of the highest rated halftime shows of all time. Old white people hated Kendrick Lamar and complained about him, but 133 million people watched his halftime show last year. I bet Bad Bunny gets just as good a number, if not better.

Doobie Brothers? You seriously think that in 2026, the 17ing Doobie Brothers are who should headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show? Love their music from 40 and 50 years ago, but they were big a literal half century ago.
What in the great good damn?! You are on your own here.
And Huey Lewis is 75 and said sometime before Covid that he was so deaf he didnt think he could continue to sing. He hasnt been musically relevant since the mid or late 80s. THAT IS 4 DECADES AGO.

Artists that charted half century ago should perform?...this would be like if Bing Crosby had performed at the 2001 halftime show instead of Mary J Blige, Britney Spears, and Nelly.

If an old Bay Area group is gonna perform, get 4 Non Blondes to play so everyone under 30 can belt out Whats Up? like its 1993 all over again.
joking...kinda.

Green Day opening the Super Bowl is cool.
Bad Bunny playing the Halftime show is cool, I guess, I dont know his music and rarely watch the Halftime show.

Doobie Brothers playing would be absurd.
