MS NOW tells Snopes that it did not make the edit itself, rather it took the image from the internet without realizing that it had been edited.
Many, including podcaster Joe Rogan, criticized MS NOW for making Pretti “appear more handsome”. The edit makes Pretti’s shoulders appear broader, his skin more tanned, and his nose less pronounced.
A spokesperson from MS NOW tells Snopes that the network didn’t make the edit itself, the way Rogan and others have suggested. Indeed, other news organizations, including the Daily Mail and International Business Times, ran the same AI-enhanced image.
Now, whether or not you believe this, or if you even think it matters ... whatever ... but there is a difference between actively manipulating an image, and grabbing an image off the internet, not aware it was manipulated.
But this isn't a big deal at all. He's now not very attractive at all ... he's a rotting corpse. Maybe they should provide that photo if they wanted max sympathy for the guy?
In a bit of whataboutism, it does beg the question if you condemned Trump and his administration for being completely untrustworthy since they knowingly posted an AI-altered image of a woman who was arrested to show her crying ... a much bigger change, and one they knowingly did to actually obtain a different reaction from their audience ... and which they said they'd do again. That's on top of their constant barrage of lies for years and years, including those more recent ones pertaining to the Pretti and Renee Good murders.
