Small lineup was dominating with Singleton as the primary big. When Page came in the flow wasn’t there. Reckon CCC went off feel there for where the game was going and how well Tre was handling himself. He was a beast on both ends.
Jake with a +34. 13 assists 1 turnover. Wow!
Cats had 88 points from the floor, only 6 on free throws, most by far since Cleveland State game.
127 minutes for first and second year guys
3-point shooting set the tone for this one. Amazing how the confidence goes up once a few of them fall. Noticeable difference on the glass. I think Penn State had one offensive rebound basket and that was late in the game. Washington will be a much tougher test inside. Interior defense was better in the second half, but all season long teams have been beating us by driving their guards into the paint.
Jordan Clayton, nothing spectacular, no heat checks, 2-2 from three, 2 RBs, 2 ASTs, 1 STLs, 0 TOs. Just a real glue guy, and I stand corrected, a spectacular team player!
I was only able to watch the last 10 minutes or so. But my main takeaway was that Jake is a true point guard. He was running the offense and distributing the ball at a high level. Optimistic about him.
Don't forget, Page was horrible in those 3 minutes he did play. First shot, a running lefty hook was awful, and the spot up jumper was a brick the moment it left his hand. Soft hedge on D let a PSU guard drive to the paint without interference... and AP hit the bench. I think we need him to compete against the good teams in the B1G, but we need the guy who was diving on the floor, blocking shot, and showing and recovering out top on D. Haven't seen that guy for quite a while...
Why is wyndam still on bench? Seems like he's already left the team. Is it so his classes are paid for? NIL $$? Probably not a positive energy producer just sulking on pine? He's transferring obviously- so why not just cut him loose and let him try the portal? I'm sure someone will pick him up and find a new spot for him
I can't see everything on tv, but whenever they do show bench shots, it sure looks like he is into the game and celebrating with his teammates. I haven't seen any evidence that he is sulking, but others who attend in person may know otherwise.
My seats are in the corner behind the bench, and you are correct.
So why is he not playing? Redshirting? Why is he leaving if he is having so much fun? What the heck is wrong? Enquiring minds want to know! He really showed a lot of talent and promise last season. Wasn’t he like the keynote player on many pundits portfolios for a great season for nu this year??
