Authorities at Rutgers University are trying to find whoever is responsible for burglarizing a locked office at Jersey Mike’s Arena following Tuesday’s men’s basketball game.

Rutgers police didn’t immediately say what “items of value” were stolen, but said there were no signs of forced entry during the burglary, which took place sometime between 9 p.m Tuesday and 9:45 a.m. Wednesday

If I had to guess, I'd say all of the One Piece cards they were saving for the Nebraska game............... LOL
Imagine if that's what happened? 8,500 of those cards at $400 each = $3.4M

Here's a conspiracy theory for you....Rutgers made up the heist so instead of giving them to fans at the Nebraska game, they sell them for NIL funds. I'm not against it!

I was thinking about this as I was driving to the game on Tuesday. I saw a guy just go into a room and pull out a box full of these things. Like you said if you could get all the cards they were saving for Nebraska that is a MAJOR amount of money. Wonder what comes of this...feels like a big deal.

Hopefully it was Zinn who stole the cards to raise NIL 😂

If no forced entry - would appear to be inside job.

If so - will be quite interesting to see who the thief is

More importantly - I just lost several hundred dollars. Damn! Lol.

So basically at the low end we are looking at a couple of million dollars heist at the RAC. I imagine this story will blow up.

They better have these cards for Nebby
I doubt they have cards for Nebraska unless they catch the thief before

I would guess we received the full allotment of three games before the first game, so the Nebraska cards are gone

Sounds like it
Fans were typically selling for around $300, so your looking at about
$2.4 million value.... Not figuring what the cards are worth to the fans of
show once outside the arena, maybe double that

Can't bring a piece of candy into the RAC but welcome to steal over $2 million in cards. I believe you can still get into the RAC during the day. Just takes someone to hide somewhere and voila.

My wife was going through social media last night and said "Wow! They have suspects already! Benny Fazio, Jackie Aprile Jr, and Christopher Moltansanti were identified."

I was laughing about it and let her in on the joke. Well done by who ever posted that one.

Will be a hell of an insurance claim.

I wonder if Rutgers could be accused of negligence.

They knew the value of the cards - based on the enhanced security measures for the MSU game.

Did they also enhance the security of the card storage? Move to a more secure storage situation?
Sounds like they didn't. Or not good enough perhaps.

There's got to be cameras, right? Wouldn't homeland security insist on that?
No outside water bottles & cameras everywhere to keep us safe?
They were too focused on removing the caps from the water bottles sold.

It depends on how many of the cards were stolen. One box? Five boxes? It's never been stated how many are missing after the robbery.

FWIW, Anthony Duckett is the only Rutgers basketball player I can remember involved in a theft.
