Might as well move Freeman behind Mulvey too. Where will Freeman be playing next year?!? Maybe like a Bradley or Illinois State with very little NIL money.

He needs to go really low so that he can dominate easily without trying. If he does that, then the next year someone will take a chance on him and pay him decent money again.

Really low teams and conferences don’t pay NIL money. He’s not getting six figures at a place like Bradley or Illinois State.

I know, that's why I said the following year. He's need to go to a lower conference and make himself look good, then a bigger school may take a chance on him the next year and pay him big bucks.

We should do Owen Freeman’s points against power 5 schools. It ain’t good.
I’m counting 49 total points in 13 games against Big East, Big 10, Big 12, and Gonzaga. So 3.76 ppg in those. 56 rebounds in those games though, so a bit better there. Only one of those 13 games had him on the floor for more than 17 minutes. And this month he’s barely seeing the floor.

Really weird situation to go from nearly full-time starter in the Big Ten as a freshman to bench warmer two years later. I wonder what Ben could have done with him if he’d stayed. He has the athleticism to be a good defensive player, just not the mentality I would guess.

I heard he’s been out lately but I think that’s maybe an illness but not sure? Any chance we think Creighton brings him back next year? Almost seems like a Brian Ferentz situation. He should have been paying Iowa to be the offensive coordinator.

Yet he leads the team in minutes and assists
He’s shooting just over 50 percent from the line how did that happen? He’s usually over 75 percent. His FG percentage is 39 also which is way down from last year.

As a freshman, he was quick, athletic, and showed fire. Watched him last year at the Mark against WAZZU. Looked heavy, slow, and disinterested. Totally checked out. Seems like he has continued down that path.

Yea. I was wondering the same thing. That’s like worse than CMac in the season he shot like 58% from the line, 32% from the field, and 28% from three, or something close to that.

“This has been the hardest year of my life."

Creighton signed Owen Freeman — a former Iowa standout and On3’s No. 2 transfer center this summer — to replace record-breaking program legend Ryan Kalkbrenner.

Nothing in the last nine months has gone according to plan.

Freeman talks to @ByJonWalker about the knee injury suffered in a pickup game last summer and his dwindling role on the team in the last two weeks:

He looked all right when he was putting up numbers against bad teams back in the fall of 2025. He was never forced to play defense at iowa and put up points on some really bad Iowa teams. That was never going to fly at Creighton.

Check this out, from a quick Google/AI search:

Based on reports surrounding his transfer in March 2025, Owen Freeman is rumored to be receiving a high-value NIL package, with estimates suggesting his compensation at Creighton is in the range of $1.8 million to $2 million.

Recruitment Context:
The high figure was reportedly part of a competitive recruitment, with other major programs (Michigan, Auburn) potentially bowing out due to the high financial demands.

Impact:
This figure is notably higher than the reported $1.5M total team NIL budget for his previous school, Iowa, during his final season there.

These numbers are unofficial, based on reported NIL rumors as of March 2025.

Wouldn't be surprised given the circumstances Owen transfers to Cal Poly to play with his younger brother Braden who's taking a redshirt year.

Crazy that he got up to $2M for his "services."
Like who’s going to take him next year? Maybe like an MVC school for like a hundred grand?!? Imagine that phone call from a Bradley or Illinois State head coach to McDermott, probably having them change their minds.

Speaking of Mulvey, watching some Siena on ESPN+ now and Mulvey playing well. Used mostly as screener and passer on offense, when he does get the ball he's efficient 3-3 on FG's and closes down the lane on D.

He was really not getting any minutes earlier in the year which is why I had him last on my list of transfers. Good to see him get time.

Watching the game tonight, Freeman is a non-entity. Haven't seen Dix do much either. Freeman has digressed.

In 29 minutes, Josh was 0-6 from the field (0-4 from three) for 0 points, 0 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 turnover, 1 steal

Without hesitation, I can say, if they stayed at Iowa, they would have been stronger, in better shape and a part of the offense. That is, only if they wanted to work.

You can see it in Koch's body and quickness. In another year, he will be a major contributor.

Owen would not have played for Ben McCollum. He would be on the bench just like at Creighton.
