Surprised there’s anything left after Jane Fondas husbandRecord price. Just found interesting. Carry on.
I think the sellers are the Gottsch family, their deceased patriarch Bobby Gottsch started RFD TV and I do think they have some ties to NU, especially in ag education. Not sure about football! Not the folks who just got $56M
Or Bill GatesBetter than China
The number of billionaires has roughly doubled in the US over the past decade and totals close to 1,000 people according to some sources. Combined wealth is now over $8 trillion - that's like nearly 30% of the entire US's annual GDP. They can pretty much buy up most of the peaceful/scenic ocean, mountain, ranch, you name-it real estate they want, if they chose to.if I was a billionaire I'd have a sandhills ranch too, it's peaceful out there.
I drove from omaha to san padre last year...and basicly between okie city and san antonio it's a traffic jam.
The article states " Pawnee Springs Ranch property in the Sandhills region of Nebraska, known for its abundant prairie land. Pawnee Springs is about 15 miles southeast of North Platte". Correct me if I am wrong all you Western Nebraskans, but when I am flying along I-80 aren't the Sand Hills to my North?
There are "fingers" of the Sandhills that extend south of I-80. The Sandhills aren't perfectly rectangular. Having said that, I believe this property is actually east and a little north of North Platte. I work on a nearby ranch every June, helping with branding (and by "helping," I mean that I stay out of the way of the real cowboys, who actually know what they are doing). The article states " Pawnee Springs Ranch property in the Sandhills region of Nebraska, known for its abundant prairie land. i looked, and see 27 over 56 mil. with 6 of them over 100 mil plus.. boggles the mind$56M for 40,000 acres is cheap. Down here in Palm Beach county there are probably 100+ homes for sale with an asking price of more than $56M.
I'm glad an American bought the ranch.
Patrick Gottsch was the RFD-TV founder. Probably related as they were both from Elkhorn, but Patrick just died a year or two ago.I think the sellers are the Gottsch family, their deceased patriarch Bobby Gottsch started RFD TV and I do think they have some ties to NU, especially in ag education. Not sure about football!
Ted Turner still owns 400,000 acres of Nebraska... let's all chip in and buy him outOr Bill Gates
A 1.74 acre lot in Miami just sold for $68M. Of course there is the private real estate market for the ultra wealthy. Listings are private and hides the identities of buyers and sellers.i looked, and see 27 over 56 mil. with 6 of them over 100 mil plus.. boggles the mind

My bad, you're right.Patrick Gottsch was the RFD-TV founder. Probably related as they were both from Elkhorn, but Patrick just died a year or two ago.
His secretary should pay a smaller percentage then. Not make Buffet pay a higher percentage. When Warren Buffett says that we paid a SMALLER income tax percentage than his secretary we should all pay attention. There are too many ways for the ultra wealthy in our nation to avoid taxation.
There's literally nothing stopping any of these whiny billionaires who want to be taxed more from voluntarily paying more into the government. So if they're not doing that then it's just grandstanding. When Warren Buffett says that we paid a SMALLER income tax percentage than his secretary we should all pay attention. There are too many ways for the ultra wealthy in our nation to avoid taxation.
There aren’t amazing loop holes - it’s Capital Gains taxed at a lower percentage. Do you think Capital Gains tax should be more? When Warren Buffett says that we paid a SMALLER income tax percentage than his secretary we should all pay attention. There are too many ways for the ultra wealthy in our nation to avoid taxation.
This is 100% why any dork that says "I am okay with higher taxes so that we can help out others" is a ******* liar, unless they are chipping in more than they have to at the moment. You can always send in more if you really want to help. There's literally nothing stopping any of these whiny billionaires who want to be taxed more from voluntarily paying more into the government. So if they're not doing that then it's just grandstanding.
100%In addition some people clamoring for net worth taxes on billionaires. Most people applaud - it will be a gateway to tax everyone in the future, which should terrify everyone. Especially our great farmers!
Nah. Totally normal. The market will sort itself out once AI is fully autonomous and the billionaires can just kill us all off.Crazy...
Don't get me wrong, I am a free market guy, but it sure feels like we are slowly creeping back towards feudalism. Not sure that's good thing.
The poors sticking up for billionaires gets me every time.Nah. Totally normal. The market will sort itself out once AI is fully autonomous and the billionaires can just kill us all off.
