OK, despite my posts dripping with sarcasm, this is not.

My wife is going through menopause. When does this s h i t end? She's been great until now. Zero pms, zero moody. Now, its revenge. All day long its too tired, too hot, too cold, too bright, too early, too late. Its Wednesday, its a day that ends in y. Too light. too dark, too whatever. Its driving me insane.

I know this might sound ridiculous and OT but for all that is holy make sure there isn't any mold in your house. Thought mine was going through menopause/dying but we had an air purifier that had mold in the guts and didn't matter if it had a fresh filter. Our lives have been saved since getting rid of the mold.

Start drinking heavily upon the moment you walk inside the house upon arrival. You're ****** for several years. It only gets worse, God help your soul.

Dude… for some, it never stops. It’s the new reality. Definitely a complete 180 from who I married 25 yrs ago.
After 3 yrs of this I have a different understanding. In other words, I would vote to acquit in a murder trial if she happened to fall on a knife 17 times.****
This man tells the truth, but he better not read out loud while he’s typing.

I’m 5 years in menopause hell. I mentally repeat my vows on a regular basis. Menopause is sickness right? I’ll let you know when it stops, but it seems that every time I think it can’t get worse, it gets worse in a different way. It’s like a new symptom every week.

Guess I lucked out because I couldn't tell you mine ever truly went through it. Never did hormones or anything, and she's almost 65.
Now my mother on the other hand, her hormone pills were like crack and coffee in the morning to her, if she didn't get her pill she would argue and raise hell with the bark on a tree until she felt like she won the argument

I am not joking when i say this

1st get her to an OBGYN get her hormones checked to see if she needs Estradiol.
2nd get her some marijuana gummies they work miracles on their emotional swings.

and if she won't take the gummies you take them.

pray a lot!

i have done all the above and we survived!

I’m sorry to say I’m about 15 years into it. About 3 years ago the Dr finally prescribed a hormone replacement patch, the wife calls it The Bit€h Patch. It takes the edge off. She’s definitely a better person with it and you know when it’s time for a new one. Dr’s are reluctant to prescribe them because they are messing with nature and all that plus I think they are primarily for women who have had hysterectomy’s.

This biological reality is why we need to repeal both "no fault divorce" and Title IV-D.

Just curious…. Does yours also have around 35 bottles of non-FDA approved vitamins and supplements to cure every possible symptom because she read online that they’re miracle drugs?

There is a lot of new information about HRT that suggests it’s not quite the risk that it was once thought to be for women in menopause. At a minimum the often cited study that suggested higher risk of breast cancer has been proven lacking in application.

That’s good to know because that little patch is more valuable than spot silver!

Have her go to a "Women's Clinic," to get her hormones straighten out. Many OBGYNs don't delve in this area. They will implant a pellet in her backside that will change her life. Bonus, it has testosterone in it, which means more fun for you. Ovation (Madison) is the clinic if you live in Central MS.

Just went through this.....Start researching OBs or NPs who specialize in menopause and hormone replacement therapy. Find a really good one — there’s supposedly an excellent provider in the Jackson area.

From my wife, who did extensive research and listened to a ton of podcasts on the topic (Dr. Mary Claire Haver Podcast), most OBs receive very little training on menopause during school and residency, and many know surprisingly little about hormone replacement therapy.

When women get on the right replacement therapy, it can be an absolute game changer. Once adjusted correctly you will thank me on two fronts!

In my experience, it does end. It’s pretty rough while it last, but it does, mercifully for both of you, end.

My wife hasn't started menopause yet, but several of her friends have. Two of them got on testosterone and are completely different women, in a good way. And as other posters have said, their husbands are very happy now as well.

I guess I got lucky for once. My wife had to have her plumbing removed in her 40s. It turns out this caused her to not have menopause. So, I dodged a bullet there.

Hormone Replacement THerapy is a miracle drug. It would be used for probably 99% of women except some jack *** doctor had a puritan streak that somehow felt like not dealing with the effects of aging was somehow wrong so he put out a fraudulent paper claiming that it caused cancer. I would assume all OBGYN's are informed now but there are still doctors with animus to HRT because of a debunked paper from decades ago.
