We are better without JQ in the small sample we have. This is why it’s imperative the entire team start the season and you don’t bring in players who may or may not be healthy by midseason. It was the only way pope could land what he termed “superstar”.

We weren't better without him in the ooc same size we had. We lost 4 games without him and we don't beat st johns without him.

Let's see how we finish up by the end of the regular season n sec play without him (assuming he doesn't return) and then we can make a better statement on better without him or not.

The Missouri meltdown seems crazy, BUT it could also be the reason we are resilient now. Think we bottomed out that night, now we’re playing tough and believing. Playing with house money next week. Why not go win a couple more?

Good winning streak for certain but still not a team I trust. Could have easily lost 4 of the 5 they have won (but they didn’t so credit there). Have to stop with the missing 3 guys mantra though as we really are only missing 1 in Williams. We haven’t had a healthy Lowe the entire year and JQ gave us a single good game against ST. John’s. We are who we are at this point. Will be impressive if they can win 3 of next 5. Biggest issue on hand is pope still has zero recruits for next year.

Honestly don’t care if we are. Keep the doubt going. Don’t praise them. Keep working hard.
Next week is a deciding week on if we are capable of being a second weekend team. Two quad 1 wins making us 5-5 in those if we can win @Vandy and @Arkansas. A tall order with all our current injuries but with this team anything can happen. Win both of those and we are ranked 15-20th and 16-6. Win one and lose one close and probably still top 25 and 15-7 with 4 Quad 1 wins. Have a chance at a decent resume if we can continue to win. Proud of the fight regardless as it would’ve been easy for this season to implode but instead we’ve won 5 straight.

Nah, you're rooting for other coaches in game threads. That's low.....even for trolls. Go hang out with Beard- might want to wear something to protect your neck though.

Massive to log five straight wins in the conference considering everything stacked against this team. Now you have an huge opportunity with nothing to lose on Tuesday. 🤞
Yeah, now we just need to figure out a way to go like 6-3 in the next 9 Guantlet games. With the start to the year and the injury situation I think that would put us up close to the top of the league and Pope would deserve a year 3.

It's been fun to watch, but I'm afraid some bruises are coming. Vandy is good.
They have lost two in a row though. Maybe we catch them at a good time.
Gonna have to buy the wins on the road this week. All of us that gamble put 100 or 2 on Vanderbilt Tues and Arkansas Saturday. That should be enough to get us a win on the road.
That is true, everyone make it so Vegas will lose more on Vandy winning! Hard to do when they adjust the lines so fast, but maybe a large bet here and there could have them leaning a UK win.

I think we could beat Vandy, I don’t think Arkansas is in the cards. I just think the guard situation is too much to over come. Plus they have the athletes to slow Oweh down and we depend on him so much.

Long way to go still, but this is why you don’t call for a coach to be fired in December of his second year.
All things considered, he’s still on borrowed time.
Yeah, we might go from 14-6 to 14-8 by next weekend. If we get a split and sit 15-7, 6-3 with a couple of home games after that, Ill ve very happy. But if we do lose both those week, at least the fire Pope crowd will get to come back out and play
Y’all keep puffing your chest out over a 5 game win streak that could easily have been 2-3 but it seems you haven’t kept up with recruiting. His outlook here is still very bleak with the way he’s recruiting.

His first two seasons he recruited miles better than he has for the season coming up and you see how the first two years have gone (not UK standards). The standard here is still titles. Not sweet 16’s or 5 game win streaks. So while this win streak might be a short term feel good story, it really changes nothing long term. If he was actually recruiting worth a damn and building something for the future then it would be much easier to be excited.

I think we do beat Vandy. I agree about Arkansas, they’d have to short poorly and we’d need to make 3s at a 40%+ clip. Possibly but obviously not likely. Something tells me we keep the streak going though and win both.

I sure hope so, that would be dope. Just so the board knows I haven’t watched any of the last 5 live. Taped them all so I am keeping the mojo alive. I will not check a score or watch until we have won out! Let’s go Cats.

I will attribute to this being an 11:00 game but we need to start making our free throws. We play too many close games to miss so many. Oweh needs to put more arch on his so they at least clear the front of the rim. He left two short tonight.

They should be moving in a different direction after the season no matter what happens

They lost 3 in a row, last one by 25 to Cal. But they won by 32 today

Amazing the swings with fans in this board. I think most realistic fans though, realize Pope isn’t going to work out.
Not sure if you meant me. We can all agree Pope won’t work out. If we are winning I’m gonna cheer tho. Wanted a 6 game winning streak. I’d rather know Pope isn’t it and win than lose.
