They’re starting to come together now. Feels like they didn’t do jack **** over the summer. Could peak just in time for the tournament and be a threat but the seeding will be dog **** because of how bad the non conference went.

We have a couple good non conference results. A nice sec run could get us as high as a 3 seed. It’s all about the quad 1 wins not the losses and UK does not and likely will not have a bad loss but will have a lot of quad 1 wins.

If this team even makes the NCAA tournament, they’re never gonna be as high as a three or four seed. There’s just too many losses still coming in the SEC.

We are definitely improving which deserves credit. We just have to come to the realization every game will be close, but I can handle that with the effort and resolve we have shown the last month. Credit to the players and staff as losing 3 key guys could have caused them to quit.

Yep. Far from what any of us wanted but it could be so much worse if they’d phoned in a bunch more Ls.

For the second year in a row we will never know just how good UK can be. Injuries have just been devastating. This team could get hot and win a couple of NCAAT games but that seems to be the ceiling. Maybe year 3 of Pope he will have a full year with minimal to zero injuries.

Still we have played power teams hurt and won. We should be 6-1 honestly. The team has improved massively.

How do yall keep using this half *** logic about sec play?

So we should have beat Missouri but u ignore we shouldn't have beat LSU (miracle shot after lsu choked away huge lead) and UT (down 17)? Come on man. U have to be consistent.

That’s the whole thing they have to finish top 2 or 3 in the SEC. We are right there right now. JJ is a game changer he’s like a Jeremiah fears level impact guy if he gets the min. The sky is the limit for him and as he grows so will our team. Someone made the point that based on how we started the season it’s gonna be March before we peak. Our 2 freshmen are our potential stars.

I agree that it evened out in the end. But honestly we don’t lose 8 point leads at home in the last 4 minutes that often. 6-1 was a real possibility, but it played out the way it did.

So ... are we better with Lowe and JQ, or not ?? It is a legit question. Honestly, I do not know the answer.
No telling. We would have to see both at 100%. I’m going to say no with the caveat that we play with the same intensity and defensively with them or better.

Pope played for the master preparer and motivator in Pitino. I would like to see him prepare for games like Rick did. We have lost too many games we shouldn’t have and a lot of them have been real clunkers. Last year and this year. I would like to see some of that Pitino fire come out of Pope. The road game at Arkansas will be a telling story. Let’s see if he is up to it.

I really hope we can keep the core of Chandler, Johnson, Moreno, Kam, Hawthorne and Jelavic next year and bring in a really good point guard(s) and wing bucket getter/shooters and I like the trajectory. I’m of the opinion you need 8 really solid players and then some for emergency foul trouble (Noah, Potter, another small school transfer).

We blew Mississippi State out, so it is possible.

Pope deserves a lot of criticism, but we really need to be fair. He stopped the bleeding and turned the season around. That wasn't easy to do and we just saw Tennessee win at Alabama and LSU almost won at Arkansas. We beat both those teams on the road.

Ole Miss won at UGA, Texas just smoked UGA and we beat Texas

I get it, this isn’t the team we thought we were going to have. We did have concerns over the summer about the lack of star power and now, hopefully Pope understands.

I'm not going to make any wild predictions about this team, but I've seen enough over the years to believe that anything is possible. Plenty of teams stunk during the year, had nothing going for them, but got hot. This team certainly can go on a run. A lot has to happen for a run to be possible, but Pope has shown he will adjust and is going to put the work in to make the team better. That's all we can ask for at this point.

Mizzo was a home game versus 2 Sec away games. UT was ranked at the time.

Definitely glad they didn't roll over and quit. The first half of the season was frustrating, but I still like this group and if they can keep fighting and gelling it could turn into being a fun redemption ark story of a season.

Yeah, I really hope they find a way to win 5-6 of these next 9 really hard games. If they do that you tip your hat to them for sure.
