Glad to see activity from HWC other than from Spencer. Elite recruits actually care a lot about the quality and activity of a RTC. I would argue it's probably 50% of a college wrestling program's appeal.
I don't know if it's been discussed anywhere else here (apologies), but DeSanto and Buchanan both won in France recently.
Desanto won gold with 53-2 total match scores. Beat Tomasello 10-0 in the process. Buchanan won final 11-0 over 2024 Olympian and 2x U23 medalist Radu Lefter of Moldova.

Damn sad these results weren't on top of the page because the forum is over ran with trolls and negativity. Could somebody make one thread for all the bitching so when good things like this happens those of us that are sick of seeing the same guys complaining about the same stuff don't miss it.
I’ve been openly critical on here of the product Brands is putting on the mat; I also knew of these results because as a true wrestling fan I follow wrestling outside of just this forum. If you don’t like the criticism our coaches are getting don’t get on this forum; that’s one thing a team forum is used for is to show our displeasure. I would suggest going to intermat, Flo, track, etc from time to time to follow some other wrestling or look for results.

I would like claficiation on Kennedy Blades. It looks to me that the HWC pays for her. I am not saying it’s a bad thing, but it would take up resources the HWC has as she is in demand with Ok State wanting her and by the looks of it willing to pay for her given she was in the paycomm commercial with Smith and Gable. Overall I think its a big benefit to have her given her success and likelihood going forward.

Yeah they pay for her, she is a member of the HWC. She joined the HWC last year.
yes she is a HWC athlete, and has been for awhile. why is there two clubs? because people can't work together? I agree with you, if we can't figure things out and lose the most dominate athlete in college sports right now, that's a problem, as she has a very bright future ahead of her, and is a great ambassador for Iowa.
I don’t think many are saying the criticism isn’t valid or understood. It’s simply overwhelmingly negative here and that gets to be wearisome. Positive news should be appreciated when it happens.

The current top regional training center in our country are sending four of our best that will dominate. Looking forward to 4 golds more then any other club will produce!
Yazdani now listed at 97kgs, would be a huge opportunity for Buchanan. Spencer's weight has a lot of quality guys too.
Buchanan also has Azarpira of Iran in his bracket. He has won Olympic Bronze, 2025 World Silver. Lost to Snyder at Worlds 4-2. Buchanan will definitely be tested.
