These never go well. I hope Hoiberg is just keeping him out with the game in hand for now.

Doesn’t sound good. This is the only thing that can slow this squad down. **** **** ****

Good news is that even without Frager, they controlled UW pretty much the entire game...I believe the lead got to as much as 17 points at one time without him -which is about what we'd have expected with him in the game. So maybe they'll be able to cover his absence...

But a tough, tough stretch coming up. These next 5 games will determine if NU is a legit 1-2 seed in the tournament, or if we should think 3,4, or 5 instead.

Not sure how much the B1G tournament can help or hurt us getting high seeding in the tournament up to this point, but we’re going to be battling Michigan, Purdue, Illinois and Sparty for the top 4 seeds with double byes.

That should at least get us a 3 or 4 seed.

THIS is an injury that can really derail our season I’m afraid. I’ve been holding my breath over injuries all season. 😕
This is a team that is so tight and working so hard I worry less about one temporary injury derailing a whole season. They didn't miss a beat after he left the game and rallied around each other. They didn't get to 16-0 / 17-0 / 18-0 because of one guy. He will hopefully be back by the B1G tourney and be rested for the run into the tournament.

Who knows, maybe this injury will keep him out of the limelight a little and make him a little easier to keep when the vultures, I mean portal opens

I'm encouraged by the fact he ran up and down the court for 2-3 more possessions after the injury. Sure, it could still be bad but maybe not. In any event, there was always going to be an injury or injuries this season and if you weren't already factoring that into your expectations for the rest of the season you were being naive. This team has multiple guys we really can't afford to lose, so does everyone else. I'll be positive and say that I expect Garcia to flourish while Frager is out.

Frager is as a HUGE part of the formula. You can’t take a guy with his ability to score out of your lineup without a dropoff. I think his absence will cost us multiple games over the next few weeks depending on when he comes back. I’m sorry, as much as I appreciate Jacobsen and love Sam, they’re not Frager. There’s huge dropoff to Garcia as well.

Of course he is a part of the formula but this team has had moments where the 'stars' have had off nights and others step up. Garcia is certainly not Frager but I hope the team and coaches don't believe that without Frager they are suddenly going to lose multiple games. If so they are not as mentally strong as everyone has been touting.

Plus the fact that Fred said he is day to day means the injury isn't as severe as everyone assumed and with care and smart management he won't be out long unless we believe Fred is in the game of lying about injuries which I don't believe to be true.

I am just saying you don't suddenly derail a 18-0 / 19-0 season by losing one cog in the machine. If so they were more fragile than an 18-0 / 19-0 team. Give the rest the benefit of the doubt and let them step up. Even when Mast has a slow night production comes from other areas... same SHOULD be true with Frager out a bit. Defeatist beliefs lead to defeats.

It looked like a stubborn sprain when he rolled it last night. Common injury, nothing more. I would guess he misses one game, max.

The offensive drop-off to more Jacobsen & Garcia is legit, as you say ... so I hope I am right! Frager is the most explosive athlete on the roster and needed as this thing progresses.

Frager has been absolutely huge in a number of ways this season. With that said, I thought Essegian's shooting was an absolutely essential factor going into the season. Nebraska has perservered in spite of his absence. I am cautiously optimistic moving forward,

That's a lie....there are posters on this thread that said he was done for the year...or was it 6 weeks? 😂🤣 I mean Connor was even praying with him...his career is over...look at me...I know people that know people that are in the know. Some people are soo funny. For those that don't recognize sarcasm....I'm being facetious. Thanks HBK for the update.

I heard 6 weeks from a buddy, but no idea if there is anything to that.
I played a lot of hoops when I was younger. Sprained my ankles just like Frager did last night. I remember going to work when I could barely walk. Everyone is different, but I am betting if it is just a bad sprain he will not be out for 6 weeks.

Felt the same way watching the replay. He was moving okay after it as well. You wouldn't be still going up and down the floor the way he was unless it was a minor sprain or something much worse and they ruled out the much worse.

We only play eight. Stating the obvious, but he gives us a little size when one of the bigs sit, and the offense gets better. It hurts if he is out

Frager's injury, whether it keeps him out for a game (or longer), really exposed us and our lack of depth that's available. Frager is like a swiss army knief, he really does a lot of things on the court to pressure a defense, losing his points, rebounding, defense will make it difficult to say the least. I'm sure Blue and Jarvsevicius were picked up to spell Lawrence and Mast but neither one see's any meaningful time, what a waste if they can't contribute. Not sure what's going on with Mast, he seems to be having a hard time finding his shot of late, seems/looks more fatigued. If we get into foul trouble and/or just run out of gas, Fred's going to have to roll the dice with some inexperienced guys even if it's for a min. or two at a time.

Give them a break. Our football team has given us nothing but embarrassment and headaches, and it looks like we might not even win the off-season national title this year, that is how bad things are. Then, out of nowhere the boys have gifted us with something to enjoy, the first time a boys team at NU has done anything meaningful in a more than a decade. I kind of hope for a few losses just to take some pressure off and help them win that first tournament game, which will be very heavy on them.

I sprained my ankle as a junior in high school. Made it up and down the court twice. By the time I got to the bench I have an ankle 3 times its normal size. Started practicing after about 2 weeks but it never healed. 50 years later it will dislocate and force me to drop to the ground and pop it back in place. Sooo should he let it heal or try to come back quickly? They’ll figure it out. Just depends on how badly the ligaments are torn.

You've been quite negative lately. This team is more than just one player. They'll be fine. It's good news.

Sprain is alot better than it could have been. Just hope it's not something that lingers and bugs him when he does return.
