lol, they are pretty solid about pulling up comments. Agree with the Myslinski comment, I haven't heard if he has even been approved by the NCAA yet for an extra year.

Kamari and the new guy will get about the same # of reps. Who cares who starts.

that's not how an Iowa offense works. Moulton had 170 carries this year, compared to Jaz with 60. So, I'd say it matters.
Well, Jaz was banged up, missed some games and was maybe in the doghouse a bit but yeah, I get your point. We normally ride the hot hand/situation and no, no union cards there. KF hates fumbles, thus a few of those and if the RB room is healthy you are going down a few notches.

Lol. You have no idea WTF you are talking about.
They don't. If you asked them to name all the players who got in trouble twice with police as a true freshmen and then started for 3 years they would say "no one". Then when confronted with the receipts they would still say it never happened.
They would also deny that Brian wasn't qualified to be OC.
They are cultists disconnected from reality.
Moulton wasn't the best RB this year, and he won't be next year.

Phillips will be short yardage and goal line back at minimum, He will get important touches if healthy

I don't agree on Phillips jumping Moulton. Moulton will be a 1,000 yard rusher if he stays healthy this season.

It's probably wishful thinking if anyone believes Diaz and James are meaningful contributor's next season. I hope they are, but....

I think people are short-changing McNeil. Don't forget he was a true freshman and if he didn't get banged up he would have gotten more carries. We lost Jaz (was productive) and TJ (no real loss there as he didn't find a niche) so we still have a great stable of running backs. I will take Moulton, Phillips, McNeil, Williams, Doll, and Dean. I do wonder if Dean will stay at RB, does he move back to DB.

the entire offense as listed by op looks brand new in terms of personnel. will be quite the feat to have them humming early in the season

That first part was a big red flag for coaching here. I was always wondering how he got to stay on the team? I mean, not wondering but still waiting for more punishment.

I don't get the Moulton hate. The kid can play.
I think he’s a good back but he’s not proven to be a game changer. There were several runs this year where if he were a little stronger, a little faster, had a little more balance, he would have broken some big runs. I was hoping he’d taken that step last season but maybe he will next year.

Similar to the two receivers brought in two years ago that didn't do much?

I hope these new guys work out much better.
Too many new faces to get too hyped just yet, imo.

He's really good at seeing the hole, making one cut, and going. The problem is that he's not big enough to run thru a lot of contact and he's not fast enough to outrun guys. Great vision, but avg skillset.....at least that's what I see.
Good analysis.

Solid back that will continue to get lots of carries. Any idea as to what the transfer RB excels at?

Dayton Howard at 6-5 may want a word about one of those wide receiver spots. He has been underutilized due to the QB situation, but remember his key catches @ Rutgers and the leaping TD grab in the rain for a TD @ USC. I like the WRs Iowa has brought in, but Howard is talented and knows the offense. I'll be surprised if he's not a starter.

It's Dayton Howard. Desmond Hutson was another guy from KC a few years back.

McNeil has a very unique style and smoothness, reminds me A LOT of Wadley, sweet feet and gliding capability that is very natural. He set some sort of all time RB agility record last year as a TR FR, crazy! RB room in good hands!
Akrum Wadley is one of the best backs Iowa's had in the last forty years. He was amazing, and he did some of his best work at the most crucial times, such as against Penn State. Anybody close to Wadley would be welcome. I haven't seen enough of McNeil to compare him yet, but I hope you're right.

for a guy who isn’t very big or very fast he always gets positive yards. unlike other backs he doesn’t hesitate or run into the back of his own guys or get caught by pursuit until he’s past the los. granted he doesnt hit home runs but it’s usually 2nd and 6, never 2nd and 12 that likely gets us 3 extra sets of downs per game

Agreed, which is why KF and Lester like him so much....and I do too. I just think if we want to take that next step from "almost" in the CFP, to "in" the CFP, we need a couple of skill position guys that have the ability to break one at any moment.
